Hitler and Stalin leaders for gun control.
Dont you find it funny that dictatorships all have gun control. I support the second ammendment. I also feel Canada should have more liberal gun control laws.
I believe the individual has a right to defend themselves with any means, if that person thinks he will be seriously harmed. If Im not mistakened, in Canada even pepper spray is illegal to use. So pretty much you have no right to defend yourself up their, once again you have to depend on police and your nanny gov't for protection.
Since Canada doesn't have a military, they should arm their citizens like they do in Switzerland. Although, in Switzerland I think it is more to do with their culture so they may be taught through tradition to respect and responsibly use guns. Idon't think Canada would be ready for that.
Tell us how you REALLY feel there Alien.....

With all the gun related deaths in American, I could say that the States are not ready either.
But don't mind what I say eh....I'm just a pot smoking, gay lovin, liberal who lives in an igloo!

...now if you will excuse me...I must go warm up the dogsled!
*notice the passive aggresive stance? Now THATS Canadian!

This is one of the biggest differences between Canadians and Yanks. In hte US, because of its past, a gun is a symbol of your personal defence against tyranny. Hence, the 2nd Amendment. Regrettably, this is the only part of their history that Americans seem to remember best. Now, the 2nd Amendment is an anarchism to past long gone.

we dont want no coloumbine.
jeez i own 3 guns and I was taught to respect firearms. i dont find the gun registry to be too much of a pain in the ass. i took a weekend course to get my PAL (Firearms license) and whenever I want to buy a gun the store owner calls this 1 800 number and registers the gun. Though I truly believe this wont inhibit criminals, it isnt a pain the ass as everybody says it is.
now owning what we would call "prohibited" weapons (such as automatic rifles or short shotguns or tazers) is, imo, overkill. there is no reason to own a machine gun other than to fuck some mother fuckers up. violence begets violence. i respect the 2nd ammend. in the states but i dont like the extent to which it is used to perpetuate the ownership of mini wmds...
obviously , just my opinion...

Question: during the creation of the 2nd amendment there were these things called CANNON. I do not, for the life of me, see the reference where the common man can have access to cannon. Now if the populace was truly responsible for home defense as claimed then why are they not allowed heavy cannon as well?
Have you ever read the constitution ?

The problem with the gun registery is not the pain in the ass things that you have togo through to get a gun.(ANd it was a pain in the ass).
Its the billions of dollars wasted on it.Old argument. The people that register are not gonna go into a bank and open fire .
That money would have been better spent on the military or police or the heritage fund
My point is that it was a waste and will be till somebody has the balls to throw it out.

Vote for Stephen Harper and it will go buh bye like you said criminals don't register their guns.
This is just another way to get a little more money from your pocket and give it to the Gov't , like they don't have enough already.
A liberal comes to the door looking for a donation, you answer and pull out a $20.00 and ask him for $15.00 change, he looks at you bewildered, "you sure you don't want to give me the whole $20.00"
Moral of the story; don’t open the door unless you’re strong enough to tell him to “piss off, now you’re getting nothing”
I thought this topic is about the beginnig of gun controls...
But who cares?
I think that every country in the world should have gun controls like we have in Germany!
It is really hard to get a pistol or rifle for your selfdefense, maybe we don't need them because there is just a small amount of robbers who have guns, and some of these "guns" are just so called "fright shot pistols" and our plocie protects our lives...
I don't know how the police in the US or Canada works, I just heard the RCMP is a very good police... and the US has a real high crime level (??? right English? I don't think so, but forgive me).
But where is your proof that Hitler and Stalin had gun controlls?
Every SA and SS man had a gun at home in WW2, just remember the so called "Volkssturm" at the end...
There was no gun control in my opinion, but try to convinve me...
Does any one here even know the reason that this gun registry was started in the first place?? what the idea was behind it all, (well th reason they told us anyways LOL)
Canada had a goodt gun control... the problem is that they decided to include hunting riffle.
Gun control works well, up only to a point. What I don't understand is if I want to buy a pistol, I will have to jump many hoops. How does kids find those guns. In halifax and Vancouver, there is kids swarming people, and we the cops make arrests, they find guns on those kids.
That is a very good question RH. We know "WHY" they decided to include Hunting riffle. But how did it start in the first place?
