Hey, better a guy who has the wit to accept new data and change his mind accordingly than a guy who is so stubborn he can't see reality.

Stubborness is only an admirable trait when that person is right.

He is socially conservative on issues like abortion and religion, that's it.

He promotes gross fiscal irresponsibility and ballooning debt. That's not conservative.

He promotes nation building and continual warfare. That's not conservative.

He has supported erosion of civil liberties and violations of due process against American citizens. That's not conservative.

He supports what is effectively amnesty for illegal aliens. That's not conservative.

He supports corporate welfare through huge increases in agriculture subsidies. That's not conservative.

In general he supports expansion of government power, especially that of the executive branch. That's not conservative.

Bush has flipped on the reasons for the war 4 times in the last 2 weeks alone and your saying Kerry is a flip flopper?

Sheep used to say "baaah"

Now they say "flip flop, flip flop, fip flop, flip flop..."

Hilarious.

Latest reports have it that Kerry has readied his army of lawyers to contest the election. "Claim victory first, then litigate," is the plan.

The liberaism Bush supports is Fabian as opposed to what the liberals in the US who support Social Democracy. It's a choice between bad and worse really. Example:The president's plan for BPL and Internet2(total control over what you are able to view) is Fabian Socialism as opposed to the Socialists would use the internet as a revenue stream and tax it.

You could be confusing Fabian Socialism with Capitalism. Capitalism doesn't include protectionism, slavery, etc. A "free market" or "free enterprising" doesn't include price fixing, monopolies, or slavery here or overseas. There is nothing free about slavery and corporate welfare. We need less government involvement. By that I am also including corporate welfare. We need more accountability of the money, I.E. less block grants and more categorical grants. Take for example the welfare system. The US spends slightly higher percentage of the US budget on welfare today than it did in the 70's. However, only 1/4 dollars of that money reaches the poor today whereas in the 70's it was 3/4. So you could really spend half the money right now on welfare and make sure more of it reaches the people and get the same exact results, which is less government involvement. Most people don't know though that 2x as much is spent on corporate welfare as is public individual welfare. The last I heard it was over 800 billion a year on corporate welfare.

Counting the chickens Godz? most polls have it as a dead heat. The last three days in a a row. 45 %Monday 45 % Tuesday 48% today. There is only one poll that counts., that's Nov 2. Plenty of time for Bush to put his foot in his mouth or get caught in another lie.

hmmm..more & more like Karra.

UglyYank @ Wed Oct 20, 2004 5:16 pm

Kerry is in trouble, liberals know it.

I don't put too much weight on polls, personally.

Scape @ Wed Oct 20, 2004 6:11 pm

Kerry 291 Bush 247
Actually, Kerry is pulling ahead. Bush lost the 1st debate hard, in the 2nd he scared off the women vote by coming on too strong and in the 3rd Kerry beat him on points. Edwards beat Cheney on facts and Bush has also lost the war on terror argument. Flu shots have left egg on Bushes face and there is now units in Iraq that are balking at orders citing substandard equipment for tasking. Bush is losing the important undecided vote and the only ones that are hard core Bush is the Neo-cons, religious right and the companies like Enron, Haliburton, Kellogg Brown and Root. Now that's a PNAC plan not an American one. The conservative wing of the GOP has left and are even going for Kerry citing Bushes reckless deficit spending and his lack of securing the illegal immigrants. Bushes 'straw man' arguments against Kerry are falling flat and even the swift boats can't even save him now.

I think it's going to be closer than that, Scape. I do think that Kerry has a better than even shot of winning though. Most of what I've seen predicting electoral college votes, which is what counts in the end, has him in the lead.

sk1d @ Wed Oct 20, 2004 9:06 pm

i saw a poll on one of the american news stations, I don't rmember the exact numbers but its roughly

of the people voting for kerry
35% for kerry
45% voting agaisnt bush

most pepople re voting for kerry because they don't want to vote for bush

that's probably what happened last time, they didn't wantt o vote for a robot so they thought, how bad could this other guy be? and we know how that turned out.

Rev_Blair @ Wed Oct 20, 2004 9:32 pm

To be fair, if you watched the Gore/Bush debates four years ago there really wasn't much difference between them. Two guys dressed like twins mumbling, "I agree with my opponent," over and over again. Anybody who was basing their vote on those debates could have just flipped a coin.
