This is a series of two commentaries by a fellow who I am acquainted with and while I expect that some of the leftists here will act predictably in response to the video I also imagine that others will find it informative.

For General Boykin's biography go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_G._Boykin

The video links are here:

His tone is a refreshing change from frothing-at-the-mouth right wingers like Limbaugh and Jones, but his message is still the same old fundamentalist garbage.

Nonetheless, he too needs a tinfoil hat to protect him from the satellites which are beaming socialist waves around the world every second of the day.

Thanks for not disappointing me. [B-o]

Anytime - and thanks for constantly posting the same old tripe day in and day out!

For the record, I heard him out (all of Part 1 and half of Part 2), checked out his website (Oak Initiative) and concluded that all on my own. The webpage was the real clincher - it sounded like something the Republic of Gilead would have used...

He should have his own show... maybe Glen Beck can share air-time.

Lemmy @ Tue Feb 19, 2013 12:04 pm

Beck made $80M off his snake oil business last year. Doubtful he'd want to share any of that.

These guys should be hedging their bets on the godless communist Chinese, not betting everything on evil Islam. Because in ten years the whole Islam thing is going to be looked back upon as an interesting sideshow. The main event will be the superpowers of China and the US collding. Nobody'll give a crap about the a bunch of poor Muslim countries anymore.

That's definitely possible.

One thing about Asian societies is that they usually take the long term approach, while we in the West are focussed on short term. If it does happen that a new cold war breaks out, the middle east will, at best, be a place where the two power blocs fight proxy wars just like the West/East did during the Cold War.

So now we know why he hates anything even remotely resembling socialism.

andyt @ Tue Feb 19, 2013 12:17 pm

That would be interesting, espcially with China's large Muslim minority.

Glenn Beck is a Temple Recommend Mormon which means that he donates at least 10% of his earnings to the LDS. That's $8 million. Beck's charitable foundation, Mercury One, provided over $20 million in direct assistance to the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

I'd say he walks his talk.

raydan @ Tue Feb 19, 2013 12:39 pm

Which means he's living on only 72 million a year... must be hard. :(

Beck is an ignorant, hate-mongering douchebag and no amount of charitable contribution can buy him out of that, karma-wise.

Yup, I think things will start ratcheting up this year. Noprth Korea is the Wild Card in that one (or Joker if you prefer--but Joker in the "Heath Ledger" sense more than in the "funny ha ha" sense).

China's pushing it's territorial limits in the South China Sea. It seems to be poking the US with relatively minor cyber atatcks, maybe just to see how the US responds, since a response would be indicator of current technology.

China seems to have relatively few nuclear weapons though, and I couldn't find any evidence that they are stockpiling.
