Then again, violent protest has succeeded in accomplishing absolutely nothing over the past two decades, aside from making the right-wing reaction against it even stronger due to the sheer disgust the vast majority of people express when they get a good look at what the Antifa & BLM types are really like and what their agenda is really all about.

It's also just bad strategy. If you protest at somebody's house for left-wing purposes, then you also legitimize protesting at somebody's house for right-wing purposes.

And you're fucked if you come across as threatening a politician's spouse or, even worse, their children. That's what the critics immediately focus on, and you completely destroy your own credibility.

And "punching Nazis" sounds good on paper, but then the question becomes how far you can take that. Does someone who advocates against pulling down statues, supports a right to bear arms, or says they "don't see colour" in politics or culture deserve to be punched? Does protesting at a Supreme Court justice's house justify some of the shit right-wingers have done, like throwing rocks at Justin Trudeau?

This guy would probably criticize the fact that the public are expected to just trust state authorities that they'll use their powers responsibly. Well, we're expected to trust that protesters will also act responsibly too-and by 'responsibly' I mean that they won't just fuck over innocent working- and middle-class people either by destroying their homes and livelihoods or even critically injuring them?
