I saw this article as well. Even if they do put warning labels on all alcohol it likely won't change people's buying habits.

As is stated in a few of the comments there are many other food/drink products that are also unhealthy to consume in excess. Where does it end?

   

It doesn't. The do-gooders don't want any of us to have any kind of fun. I've known since I was a kid that alcohol isn't the best thing, and I'm not by any means a heavy drinker. I have a couple beers here and there when I can afford it, and the odd mickey of either whiskey or vodka (stars need to align for me to fit those in the budget).

I'm not about to stop partaking in the odd couple beers or stiff drink now and then. It all comes down to personal choice. Period. The do-gooders can get bent and butt out of everyone's lives and worry about their own.

From that video, they did put warning labels on it in the NWT, and people still remember the short lived trial. So, it might indeed change habits.

People don’t drink because we’re unaware of its ills. Same with smoking. It reminds me of a bit from Denis Leary back in the day. “You could have cigarette boxes in all black with a skull and crossbones on the front called ‘Tumors’ and people would be lined up around the block to buy them.”

   

People want what they want, and they will buy what they want to buy.
