Would be interesting to know who was there amongst Vive?

I responded with following story:

I was actually visiting my mother hospitalized at Saint-Sacrement Hospital on Chemin Saint-Foy. I was somewhat incommodated in the hospital itself! It was a warm day, the windows were opened, the wind was blowing westward toward the hospital and I also do suffer from allergies. I am not sure what it was like for the patients themselves. I certainly thought that tear gas were abused. I heard they even ran out of them.

This whole event was so bizarre for me. I parked my mother's car at the periphery on Cartier and by the time I came out after a bite watching these events unfold on TV, there was a row of Darth Vader looking people preventing me from crossing the street to get back to my car. The best one was the riotters with hockey sticks shooting pucks back at the riot squad while they were trying to blow the tear gas (with snow making equipment) to the riotters and it would blow back on the riot squad. What a farce that was. And to think I grew up in this neighborhood is so weird. The week-end certainly stirred me up even though I never meant to be there.
What is the best All-American method to get your way and avoid embarrassement? How can one prevent his Emperor of the South from being embarassed during his visit?

Instigate FEAR by propagating bogus claims of health effects to the 2001 protest. Such as this anonymous email !!!

Any respected journalist preparing a magazine article such as this email claims will disclose his/her identity.

I highly suggest VIVE turn on their BIG BROTHER filter.
Instigate FEAR by propagating bogus claims of health effects to the 2001 protest.
I have not seen bogus claims and will not support them.
Samuel: Were you actually in Quebec City? Do you understand the amount of tear gas they actually used? I know there was no death or major injuries unlike other WTO summits but I still think that the police could have been more tactful and target the real shit (or violent) disturbers instead of gasing the entire city. I still care very much for Quebec City as my birthplace.

Gaulois, you can have diverse health effects from walking down the smog filled streets of Toronto.

Seriously, you know better than falling for an anonymous email with bogus claims made to serve an imaginary article for an anonymous magazine posted to a web site that cators to "leftists", don't you?

Especially on the heels of George WorldEmperor Bush's visit.

Perhaps some lessons have been learnt on the usage of tear gas out of Quebec City. Looks to me like you would like Ottawa (&people that will head out there) to get the same treatment?

Yes I am the sceptical type and don't fall off for bogus claims of any kind. I have been contacted and can deal with these people without your patronizing wisdom, merci beaucoup.

No I am one of those persons who will be in Ottawa along with 9 friends and nothing short of George's henchmen driving lead into my forehead will prevent me from attending.

I am one of those who after seeing the daily massacres and mutilations on TV will be able to get a minimum amount of sleep knowing I expressed my outrage at it. And my outrage at our political clowns for hosting his visit.

=====================================
In reply to the post below:

There will be protests all across the country. What is your point Dr. Caleb?
=====================================

Dr Caleb @ Wed Nov 24, 2004 12:51 pm

Well, that's good Samuel, because he'll be in Halifax.

So I assume you won't be emailing this person? And your point was . . .?

Everyone's choice - participate, or don't. Believe this person's intentions, or don't.

Thread locked.
