There are tariffs between the providences?

no but there are progams and licenses. For example beef is licenced federaly and provincialy, the standards vary little between province but it difficult to get a federal permit at present on three packing plants of these one is owned by Cargil the other by Tyson Foods. This means smaller packers can only sell in the province where the plant is owned. I also know of a simular system with liquor boards.

I'm all for any kind of expansion of Canada's economy since we are currently so dependent on the U.S.

However, I'm worried of more developped Europaean companies potentially taking over less developped Canadian companies like many American ones have been doing since NAFTA.

In Casino Royal Bond had an RBC account.

But seriously, Canada could use more foreign investment, and often foreign companies taking over only effect hings at the top. To use Saskatoon again Flexi-Coil a farm implements manufacturer was bought by Case International which merged with New Holland to form the dutch based Case New Holland. Flexi-coil products chnaged little however New Holland equipment is exactly the same as New Holland, more jobs were created. The flexi-coil plant also makes products such as draper headers, a specialty harvest header, which was never made by Flexi-coil and wouldn't be marketable by Flexi-coil but can be made by flex-coil undr CNH creating more jobs.
