The new Pope, Benedict XVI, is German, and used to be a member of the Hitler Youth.
It's not the first time that Germans have taken over what used to be Polish territory.

Did it ever occure to you that Hitler FORCED people to take part of Hitler youth? Now... if he was PRESIDENT of the Hitler youth... Besides, the Catholics never liked the Jews anyway. Hitler would have seemed a good person to look up to then for devout catholics.
