Yesterday Moodies reduced Bombardiers stock to junk status yet the federal government will not be phased by ithe incredibly bad management of this company and will continue to pump billions of dollars of good money into a sinkhole, a debt the taxpayer will never realize repayment on.

Another example of why socialist countries cannot compete in the real world. No incentive to improve or adapt to market conditions. Why innovate when Ottawa is always there to support them.

What is Canada's Debt level to GDP?

Federal surpluses have helped to reduced the federal debt by $47.6 billion since 1996-97. This has also lowered the federal net debt-to-GDP ratio from 67.5 percent in 1995-96 to 44.5 percent in 2002-03. With the commitment to balanced budgets in each of the next two fiscal years, the federal net debt-to-GDP ratio is forecast to decline to about 40 percent in 2004-2005.
