I definitely don't want to see any constitution-related negotiations started in some misguided attempt to keep Quebec in Canada. Mulroney tried that and it was a disaster! In any event, the only way Quebec would sign the constitution would be if the federal government were gutted. Goodbye Canada! In Meech Lake and Charlottetown, the concessions Canada made to Quebec were extravagant and completely undemocratic. Unacceptable...
Plus, it would only buy a few years worth of constitutional peace before Quebec started making more demands....
I think I would rather see Quebec separate than go through all that again...

as for me, i do care the effect of a quebec secession on atlantic province,
i do care about those french-ontaria french-albertian french all over the province acadians gatinau and french ottawian. but as long that quebec is in the confederation, ottawa political men will always axing on quebec and ontario.

As much as the Western Canada feels isolated from the rest of Canada they really don’t know what isolation is unless they have lived in Quebec and were not French.

The Anglophone community that opted to stay in Quebec and fight for there rights has for the most part been left to there own devices. And had the rest of Canada turn their backs on us.
The Historic rally in Montreal excluded.
We as Canadians living under this oppressive Quebec government have to be more proud, more vigilant, and yes more Canadian. And for that Ottawa should be ashamed.
The Anglophone community turns out in greater numbers than any other community in Canada time and time again. Referendum after referendum. Election after election.
We fight each and every time the separatist try to drag this province out of Canada.
It is our rights that have been sold out, our children’s education and rights that the rest of Canada take for granted that have been sacrificed on the alter of Francophone paranoia by Ottawa.
Don’t sit somewhere else and spout the separatist line of its only time before we separate.

Time and time again we have shouted to Quebec and the rest of the country that we DO NOT WANT TO GO! Our votes have been ripped right out of the ballot boxes and tossed in the garbage, and still we were there in great enough numbers to win.
Canadian charter of rights is a bad joke and will remain a bad joke until they remove the not withstanding clause.
If you can opt out of giving some of people there rights then nobody really has rights.

Ralph after what you said I have come too see that the rest of Canada should be ashamed of the way we have let the goverment of Quebec treat You and your culture so Ottawa can claim they saved Canada.But its not been mentioned at the price of anglophones rights in Quebec.

Ralph, I feel your pain. But I think that you have been a little melodramatic in your description of how anglos live in Quebec and, not surprisingly, this has annoyed Optinum. As a result, Optinum has responded with some melodrama of his own. I don't think this discussion is going to be of any use if we keep using such emotionally manipulative words.
Optinum, I understand your reaction to Ralph, but I think the "galganov.com" and "killing people" remarks were a bit unfair to him. His frustration is the mirror-image of your own frustration towards the ROC. The KKK bit was also a little much! Unfortunately there are bigots everywhere, including Quebec -to wit: Jacques Parizeau! Anyhow, don't give up on CKA, you have computers in Chile, eh?

With that argument I could just have easily said for the true French to move to France if you don't like it here.I love Montreal its a great place to get really trashed and the strip clubs are amazing.(Had to teach some dumb guys form the States how to tip the strippers).But I am sick of the shit that comes outta Quebec bitching cause they want more.Don't we all?
But I have decided as has a majority of the rest of Canada that we are too busy working to get that extra for themselves and not looking or voting for a bigger handout.

That's too bad, Dan74, because if the ROC voted a little more strategically Quebec would no longer be so able to exploit Canada the way it does. In fairness though, I think all the provinces bitch and whine for more money and power from the Feds, it's just that because so many Quebecers don't really give a damn about Canada their politicians can get away with being more visible and blatant about it. Most Quebecers think of Canada as being a cash cow, and their politicians are a reflection of that.
