OMG... (I voted in this btw).

CBC politicized Canada Day with `The Great Canadian Wishlist"

Its a youth outreach thing where the CBC in association with StudentVote and Facebook holds a program on Facebook where you submit wishes for Canada and add your support to wishes.

The Top wishes that were tallied for Canada Day:

1) Abolish Abortion in Canada
2) Keep Canada Pro-Choice
3) Spiritual Revival in Canada
4) Ban Same-Sex Marriage
5) Lower or eliminate tuition fees

CBC link: http://www.cbc.ca/wish/

Facebook link: http://hs.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2392827649

Guess which ones I voted for!

yes poor CBC! Liberal values were not the supported wishes!

Go Conservative values!

newfette @ Sun Jul 01, 2007 1:40 pm

yes way to rip free choice from canadians... good on ya..

westmanguy @ Sun Jul 01, 2007 2:07 pm

so its not a "choice" if we support Conservative values?

and its not Canadian to have Conservative values?

newfette @ Sun Jul 01, 2007 2:13 pm

in my personal opinion 'conservative values' are a freaking joke.

it is my choice to believe that

westmanguy @ Sun Jul 01, 2007 2:17 pm

It doesn't mean my values are any lesser than your and it doesn't mean its not my "free choice" to have these values.

dont most conservative followers belive that gay marribe should be allowed or that abortions should be abolished??

$1:
1) Abolish Abortion in Canada
2) Keep Canada Pro-Choice

Interesting top 2 choices. Canada seems as divided on this topic as America is.

Did what you mean to say was:

Don't most Conservative followers believe that gay marriage should *not* be allowed and/or abortions should be abolished??

If thats what you mean, than:

Their is different types of "Conservatism"

Red Tory - ties with Britain, monarch, similar to UK, etc.

Americanization - small government, democratic government system, more power to provinces

Religious/Soical issues - gay marriage, abortion, etc.

Economically conservative - low taxes, low amount of social programs, etc.

Their is different types of Conservatisms, none of us fit under the same banner.

Bad idea.

The value of a university education means that one will, on average, earn 40% more per year, each and every year, over their lifetimes. The families of college students tend to be well off. Thus, you have a regressive system where resources are transfered from the less-well-to-do to the better off.

That's not particularly good policy.

Not me or my chums. I'm pro-choice and pro-ssm. But I do hate liberals. I'm just bad really.
