ELECTION 2021 - Trudeau calls federal election
herbie @ Sun Aug 15, 2021 10:01 pm
I live in a Dipper 'finger' of the riding that sticks right up the ass of a solid Tory area. Although North Central BC has turned into an economic shithole they keep it up, hoping for the magic day when a Tory gov't and a Tory MP and the slightest benefit whatsoever happen at the same time.
Meanwhile the Libs nominated one of the most disliked people in town. Well known opportunist, obsequious ass, doesn't listen to anyone... a perfect politician.
I think he almost beat the Green candidate, barely got more votes than the Christian Heritage guy.
Strutz @ Sun Aug 15, 2021 11:05 pm
I had kind of hoped this stupid election would not happen. Not this year, not while all this other shit is going on. But now that it is going ahead anyway a part of me would like to see that ass JT sent packing, as I have become more intolerant of him lately, though I know that realistically this likely won't quite happen. I predict that we are likely to end up more or less in the same freaking boat we are in now, give or take a few seats here and there.Another freaking Liberal minority government and our country $500 million+ more in the freaking hole.
I am undecided right now and quite pissed off at the whole thing considering I sure as hell won't vote Liberal, I dislike the Conservative MP that has had my riding for the last few elections and have little or no confidence in any of the party leaders anyway so what to do? Not vote for the first time since I became eligible, spoil my card by writing NOTA across it or just toss my vote anywhere knowing my freaking riding will likely go Conservative anyway?

This is what I have been saying. We'll end up with another minority government that will probably not survive a confidence vote anyways, and have pissed away more money that we don't have. But remember, budgets balance themselves....

Not voting or spoiling a vote is never the answer. There's only one way to look at this election, and that is voting for Trudeau is voting for the destruction of Canada. There aren't any standout leaders, but voting Conservative is the only way to start saving Canada.
I made the mistake of voting PPC last time around, thinking Mad Max was an option until he went off the deep end completely. I won't make the same mistake twice. I'm sticking to the blue wave of the Tories, as it's the only option for Canadians that care about Canada.

Animal Protection,
Worthy, but there are none in my riding, and there are other priorities.
Scape Scape:
Christian Heritage,
Allah forbids it.
Scape Scape:
Communist,
Not in my riding, and I'd rather be homosexual.
Scape Scape:
Libertarian,
I like the cut of their jib, but not in my riding.
Scape Scape:
Maverick,
One issue, and

Scape Scape:
Marijuana,
Again, one issue, not in my riding.
Scape Scape:
Marxist–Leninist,
See 'Communist' above.
Scape Scape:
Nationalist,
Nazis? Really?
Scape Scape:
National Citizens Alliance,
{sound of cuckoo clock}
Scape Scape:
People's,
{sound of louder cuckoo clock}
Scape Scape:
Rhinoceros
Whelp. Not in my riding either, but perhaps someone will step up.
I will never vote for a Trudeau. I cannot vote for a wet noodle like O'Toole. Perhaps the NDP candidate is worthy of a wasted vote.
Also, I will predict that O'Toole might make one or two appearances in Alberta, but for the most part will ignore us assuming our votes are assured.

Conservatives too stuck in the 1950s.
So it comes down to the liberals, NDP and Greens I guess. Will have to hear their platforms.

The way the Greens have been behaving over an assistant expressing some free speech over Israel, I don't think they will ever be a viable party for me again.
I'll be either voting for myself, spoiling the ballet, or worst case... voting for my cat.
Scape Scape:
Lol, I know of no one that is voting liberal. I have my doubts anyone on this board is either.
Currently, the Liberals are the least shitty of four shitty options, but I'm still hoping for some fringe party to waste my vote on.
In the end, it won't matter because our current CPC MP typically gets 60+% of the votes in my riding, which is full of rich pricks who only want tax cuts and to revive old social conservative issues like abortion and gay marriage.

Around here, voting for any other party except for the Liberals or the Bloc equates to throwing your ballot in the trash.

Vote for whichever party you feel represents your views. Even if they don’t win in the end, you’re still making your voice heard with your vote. And hopefully, one day we’ll have proportional representation in this country and then that vote will matter a lot more.

Yea, $party will do something that ensures they are never elected again.
Never going to happen. Look how BC poisoned the electorate on the issue.
