Harper refuses to meet with anyone that challenges his ways or question his methods why would Suzuki be any different! Big business is dictating there decisions and outside interference would reveal flaws in there methods. It’s a good move on Harpers and Bairds part don’t talk to the media as they ask too many question. Tories are selling crape policies to Canadians with catchy tiles and we are eating it up!

OTTAWA (CP) - One of the country's best-known scientists and environmentalists is warning that the world economy will be devastated if governments don't act quickly and decisively to curb global warming emissions.
A day after the federal government decried the economic costs of meeting Kyoto targets, David Suzuki referred to a British study as he predicted five to 20 per cent of the economy will "disappear" if temperatures are allowed to rise just a few degrees.
Suzuki, who just completed year-long, cross-country consultations on the issue, says unchecked global warming will cost the economy more than the two world wars put together and bring about a global depression, "the likes of which we have never ever seen."
A Conservative government study released Thursday says the Kyoto emissions-cutting targets for Canada could be met only by introducing a massive $195-per-tonne carbon tax that would wipe out thousands of jobs and undercut Canadians' quality of life.
Opposition critics and environmentalists say the study is flawed because it excludes the benefits of cutting emissions, such as reduced energy costs and a more stable climate, and because it limits access by businesses to international emissions credits.
Suzuki was to meet with Environment Minister John Baird to present a petition with the names of 30,000 Canadians for whom the environment is the top priority; he says Prime Minister Stephen Harper refused to meet with him in person.

Why, exactly, would the PM want to talk to fruit fly counter about the climate?

You refer to, a series of lectures to elementary kids counselling to influence their parents voting, as consultation? Suzuki just preaches and spews his BS---that is not consultation.

No. Why, did you skip breakfast again ?

Suzuki is funny as hell and has as much credability as "didn't get it done" Dion on global climate. Both talk about the sky that's falling but neither did or do anything about it.

Why would Harper want to meet with a motorcycle?

Seth23 @ Fri May 11, 2007 5:16 pm

He got 30 000 names so what? There are thirty million people in Canada, not 30 000.That means the rest of us don`t care so he should just shut up,coz noone cares.

Maybe because Harper can see that suzuki is a fuck'n raging angry tree hugging nutball that doesn't deserve rock star stauts that he demands ?

Were was Suzuki during the liberals reign of power for 13 years when they signed the kyoto accord and did sweet fuck all, But now all of a sudden suzuki is relevant, give me a fucking break, the dork is a liberal loving , con hating bunko artist.
