It looks to me like the NDP candidate who reported this is "the man."

Something I've noticed with all of Liberal scandals...the Conservatives go to the press jabbering about corruption while the NDP quietly do something about it by working through the correct channels.

You mean the same Mike Harris that was so bad that Liberals are comparing Harper to him in an attack ad?

Ontario literally was falling apart thanks to the NDP.

And if you look at it, Ontario Liberal MP Dilton McCunty basically is quietly following in Harris's footsteps.

Same shit, different day.

Harper will be PM, and socialism will die a horrible death.

Hoorah!

Nah, what Harper will do is set Canada back a decade or so but by then people will be so angry at him that his party will implode again. If he gets a majority and the Private Member's bills raping people's charter rights start flowing, the Conservatives will become a complete non-factor.
Glad that you are able to see so far into the future.
No, he can't see into the future, but he can see where Harper and the Reforma-Tories have come from and that doesn't look good. I see no evidence of moderation in the Conservative party, nor in Harper. These people and their supporters want to follow the Reagon, Thatcher, Bush Neo-Con trail. Even many Americans are beginning to see that this path is flawed.

I don't have to look into the future, Rabble. I just have a look at the past, listen to what you Harperites say in the present, and extrapolate the most likely outcome from there.

I've been around Reform/Alliance/Conservatives since before it formed into any sort of party.

I saw what Grant Devine did to Saskatchewan following the same basic dogma. I moved to Manitoba just in time to watch Filmon screw up Manitoba. I saw what Harris did to Ontario as well. I've seen a lot of people suffer under Ralph Klein.

Harper will do federally what Devine did to Saskatchewan...take a government operating in the black, push it into the red, and cut everything that might help those who need social programs because of his economic policies. My guess is that Harper's government will be just as crooked as Devine's was too. That has a lot to do with noticing that the Conservatives have managed to demonstrate a far bit of corruption and cynicism already.
