Can anyone tell me if there is a way to play iTunes on Winamp

if you connect your ipod to your computer and go add files in winamp are you able to access the info in the ipod?
I know i can iwth my mp3 player but I dont have an ipod so i'm not sure

I don't think that will work as iTunes are protected so they'll only work with Apple iPod applications.
