France? That was surprising. We hardly ever get hacking attempts from there.

And China seems to have rolled it back somewhat! Iran and Russia have hit the accelerator though.

BartSimpson @ Mon Oct 17, 2016 10:53 am

The US government is openly attacking Russia so amped up Russian activity makes sense.

If you have a network firewall or filtering appliance or software you'd add these to your block or exception list.

To do the same thing in Internet Explorer on a home PC go here:

First buy the fastest i7 computer you can find so it can sort through the 50Gigs of blocked addresses and still keep up with your typing on notepad...

All we seem to be blocking are Tor exit nodes. It seems the Russkies think we are morons.

The UK and US are constantly hacking govts, companies and individuals in Europe. Their indignation is a little faux.

herbie @ Tue Jan 31, 2017 11:49 pm

Heard of a new scam today. Unknown number calls you up, pretends it's a bad line and asks if you can hear them. If you say yes, they've digitized your voice print and they use it to authorize new insurance or credit card changes etc.

Dunno if you're being sarcastic but I wouldn't be surprised by something like that. The whole facial/voice recognition idea is cute in science fiction but in practice it's an absolute security nightmare.

They aren't security measures, they're ease of access measures. Like a fingerprint on a phone.

I didn't know that one! Thanks for passing it along! R=UP

I wasn't being sarcastic - RCMP PSA. Heard it on CKNW, I wasn't even aware of 'voice signatures' being used.
Here's first thing I found online
