For the love of God, how can this be serious? Yeah, over age glue bag for Canada's top spot.

He turned down the idea right off, he's making more coin in LA likely than he would being GG. I agree though wouldn't want an actor as GG. Maybe he can run for governor of California one day though.

For an out dated and more or less meaningless position? Seems like a good fit!

Captain Kirk, Commander-in-chief of Canada !
Think about that: nobody would want to mess with us anymore. That would mean instant annihilation :)

Outdated maybe, but its far from meaningless.

Also, think about what will be his coat of arms ! The maple leaves, the fleurs-de-lys et the logo of the United Federation of Planets:

I for one think he would do a great job raising the Canadian profile here and abroad. I offer the Trekkie salute that with Shatner as GG we are sure to "Live long and prosper".

He doesn't have a snowballs chance.

I'm all for it.As long as they stipulate in his contract that he can continue making his "price line negotiatior" spots. Those are some of the best ads on tv.What a carrer William has had. This guy has been on tv every day that I have been alive. If there was an "iron man" award for television this guy would be the hands down favorite.Shatner rocks!
