None of those are beer. Just umbrella drinks for metrosexual half-men.

I guess my German ancestry comes out in me at such times. Water, grain, yeast, hops. These things together make beer.

Sweetbreads are not on that list!!

You ate those ground up in a sausage that accompanied your beer.

Unlikely! I make (made) my own sausages, and I don't use 'offcuts' in them. I stopped buying "big chain store" meat after working in the meat department of a "big chain store" decades ago.

I was not at all surprised at the 'horse meat' scandal in Europe a couple years back, the recent re-labeling scandal or all the e-coli outbreaks in North America recently. Those bastards will do anything for a buck, including what they refer to as 'hamburger', aka: "Barnyard Surprise" ;)

Damn some days I really miss beer, :|

It's probably down to individual physiology etc.

My favourites are Weissbiers esp. Weihenstephaner. I will never forget my first one with its banana notes - really! A spiritual experience.

I only know two things about beer:

1) drink to get drunk, not to be some fruity conoisseur
2) don't shake the can, don't ever shake the can

Drink quickly so your beer doesn't get watered down. [B-o]

In such manly company I hesitate to ask whether sparkling hop water is available in Canada yet. Like this stuff:

Sunnyways keep this thread alive for a little bit. I can try and get you contact info for possible delivery from California from a hop's brewery that a poker player is associated with.

See my poker playing gives me a lot of contacts into things you wouldn't dream of. :D

Hey, thanks, that would be great. I’m really curious about this stuff and am looking for a healthier alternative at the moment. My only fear is that the frickin provincial liquor store nazis will try and make out it’s under their purview in some way.

Here’s one beer heading for a name change:
