I am a Canadian who has lived in Miami, Detroit, Chicago, and NYC and I have to agree with you that there is no place in the U.S. that can compare to the quality of life that Canada offers.
Tobacco may have been cheap on the way to NYC, but you can't be talking about the price IN nyc. It's the highest in the U.S. at around $8 or $9/pack. Last time I noticed tobacco prices in Ontario I think some guy was paying a little over $9.
At most bodegas in NYC you can buy cigarettes out of the pack (an illegal practice that is not enforced), but they still charge a lot for them. Probably anywhere from 50 cents to a dollar per cigarette.
Nick-the-Canadian: did you visit ground zero?? 911/twin towers location?
New York City is absolutely awesome.
I think the people of New York would kill me if I walked into their city...
Don't be silly.
There are all sorts of weirdos on the streets of Manhattan and everyone ignores them!
