Flat Cath, I absolutely agree with you on that. My reading of him is so similar to yours. I just posted a reply to Dr. Caleb on another forum saying the same things. He FEELS to me as though he loves Canada and Canadians. He is VERY comfortable with the NDP policies and wins me over with his enthusiasum for them. I also mentioned to Dr. Caleb that I think the media has tried very hard not to like him but will end up liking him in spite of themselves. He's so genuine he's hard not to like. I liked the way he told the one questioner that wanted two tiered health care and Jack said he would have the choice of voting either Martin or Harper because they both were offering that to him. He never even tried to fudge a vote from the guy. It was "we will not be offering that" and no apology given. That impressed me!

Exactly 4Canada, he makes no apologies for standing up for Canada, he speaks plain english and french also, but his posturing is so pure, he isn't looking behind him or second guessing the voter, he just answers the question and offers hope for this country! I am so filled with hope this morning, something I haven't felt for this country in a long time! Also I think he has what it takes to stand up to G.W., he says so, we will not participate in the BMD program, period. Very clear no b.s.!!! I can't say enough about my enthusiasm, he won me over!

You all sound like me now. I'll probably be able to meet Jack Layton on Thursday. They asked me to pick him up at he airport and then drive him back to the airport in the morning. Were all going to a local bar and gonna watch the hockey game. The local media is calling the campaign office wanting to be there at the restaurant. They like the idea of Jack Layton in Timmins watching the hockey game at the local bar.

re: his cbc interview. Allot of what he talked about in his interview is also in his new book. I encourage all Canadians to read his book.

Well Kevin, aren't you the lucky one, up close and personal! Tell him we're rooting for him and his party to save this country, no pressure of course! ;)

I watched his speach in BC the other day and he said something that I think is going to get him a ton of votes in this province.
"If you like the way Gordon Campbell is running BC, Vote for the liberals. If you LOVE the Gordon Campbell runs BC then vote for the conservatives."

I really appreciate how he doesn't use the typical political double speak. He says "Here's our platform, take it or leave it. We will not bend." It's very refreshing. Go Jack Go!

P.S. Kevin, tell him he's got all our support!
