We need a larger population on this forum. Seems thats its only a select few that do the majority of the posting. Im sure there are a lot of register members but msot im sure register and never came back.

I know advertising cost money and that. But there must be another way to get the word out to computer users. I was thinking maybe making a standard Canadaka sig/banner. Not for use on this forum but say ill use it on all the other forums i post on, and so would all the other members who wanted to.

karra @ Sun Feb 22, 2004 11:53 am

There are 7,633 registered members. I think that's susbtantial.

The number of posters is another question.

The most ever on line users was May 1, 2003 and it was only 29! Not very many.

What's needed imho are active posters. Dump those, and their posts if need be, that haven't posted in say six months to a year.

I have other suggestions if anyone wants to hear them, but I notice nobody asked me, as usual!!

Dump the people who havent posted in six months to a Year? That sounds just peachy comming from a relative newbie. What if he/she is on the road for six or seven months out of the year and cant get to a computer? Do you think it is fair to them? just to dump them and having to start over from scratch aqain.
There maybe 7,000 plus registered but I think some people would like to post but are rather intimidated by a few people here. And guess what I am one of them. I like to think I am with it when it comes to some types of canadian and world politics. I am not even in the same class as a Rev Blair Nonrev RH and some of the others I just read the posts and when feel I may have something to contribute other people post what I was gonna say.
So no I dont think it is fair to have you say dump the people who havent posted in six months.

karra @ Sun Feb 22, 2004 12:48 pm

Just a suggestion blubs.

So what if people have to re-register, what's the big deal? And don't be so down on yourself - who says you're not in the same class/league whatever? If it's a little voice in your head saying that, don't listen to it, 'cause it's all about bandwidth, yeah?

blubs @ Sun Feb 22, 2004 1:04 pm

Karra you are right I should not get down on myself I do though. anyways its just that it would be just a bummer to start from going from say forum junkie to jr member again. If there was some way around it it would be great . What I guess would possibly help is have a deal where one could say he would be a way for six months or so something like that.

karra @ Sun Feb 22, 2004 1:26 pm

I know what it's like blubs.

You and everyone else should know that my name, though a proper noun, is not capitalised, making it more like a common noun. Don't know what my parents were thinking when they did that, for though they were capital parents they were also quite proper. Whose to say? That's a question my little voice asks me, grrrr I hate that voice sometimes.

Remember too blubs, they're only titles grudgingly spat out by a programmed computer that doesn't even judge the quality and spelling of posts.

Good thing too doncha think?

Or I would never have found myself to be the honored recipient of CKA Elite.

Rev_Blair @ Sun Feb 22, 2004 4:48 pm

There's no reason to feel intimidated by anybody here, Blubs. Anybody anywhere else either for that matter. Where the heck do you think our ideas come from? Do you think we come up with it all by ourselves? Mostly it's from the news, which I'm pretty sure you watch given your posts, and people like you.

electricbuford @ Sun Feb 22, 2004 6:47 pm

...And it's Canadians like you that Blubs that give me hope that your country will stay Canadian and that your society will stay intact. What do I mean by that? Well,I've read probably every post you've ever put on this site and you are a righteous dude! Like Twila, you've acknowledged that you don't know it all,and yet have expressed a desire to learn by listening to others opinions. The opinions that you have expressed in many of your posts in the past seem to me to be based on common sense and the best available information.Seems to me that's the best any of us could hope for ourselves....learning should be a life-long endeavor for everyone.Unfortunately some think they know it all and insist on being close minded.
There are alot of things on the forums that I don't respond to or otherwise contribute to because I simply feel that I don't know anything and/or enough about the topic to comment.I learn by listening (reading, actually)
Remember,Rev Blair is a writer...... so it stands to reason that he's going to be adept at communicating in written form. Some people are better at communicating in different ways than others too.But it's all good,eh? .... And now back to our regularly scheduled program.

blubs @ Sun Feb 22, 2004 8:11 pm

Well thanks for that vote of confidence Rev and Buford it kinda made my day. Seems to me that is what is lacking in this world right now is commen sense. I also agree that one should never stop learning. As a matter of fact I think I have learned more about people and politics in the year I have been on this site. Than my yrs in school.
And too be honest I am gonna miss miss this site for the next six months. As I am going on the road with the carnival again in two weeks.
PS Twila if you are reading this post we open at Surrey Place on the 12 of march bring your family and I will give your kids some rides. So anyways thanks guys.

Yeah! Exactly! Stop those scoundrels and hold them. Off with their - oops, send them to Guantanamo I mean. Surely it must be easier there than in a carny. Three squares, tv, soft bed, good company. . . and a hood! Don't forget the hood!

Ahh , the carny life ya gotta love it freeze your butt off in the spring in the Rockies. Roast your butt of in the interior in the summer and drown when we play at Williams lake. Nothing like sleeping in the sleeper of a Kenworth 6 and a half months a year.
I woulds be bored all to hell in Guantanamo. There is nothing boring about being a carny. Hard work low pay long hrs I love it. :)

Good grief, lol. The solution to getting more posters is to dump members....rofl.

AdamNF - It helps to have people like you actively post. Word of mouth and good content keep people coming back. Keep posting, and spread the word. I like your banner idea, let me know if you go through with it. Just don't make it as big and aweful as Rev's, ok? It WAKES UP MY WIFE WHEN I READ HIS POSTS AT NIGHT. Hehe.

Hey, I didn't make the banner...I pretty much just consider this thing to be a magic typewriter. Fat Basturd made it for me, and I like it.

Speaking of Fat Basturd, where has the big man been, anyway?
