Well, Well,

I was reading in the Vancouver Province today that Pammy Anderson was taking her US citizenship test today. I guess she likes it there better now. Oh well, Bye Pammy

LMAO!

Really though, who the fuck cares? I mean besides the obvious - the idiotic percentage of society who are too easily taken advantage (and rightly so) by marketers (those who make their millions off others who so naively believe that a nice handbag, watch, new outfitt...ect. is exactly what they need in order to be that "perfect" person). Please, give me a break. Hollywood is a bunch of trash. It's mostly filled with attention seeking sluts who rely upon their breast size to make money. Common, Britney Spears - singer or wonna be stripper/porn star? Really, the girl cant sing, she's a total flake and the only way for her to stay in the spotlight was for her to kiss Madonna and hopefully make the front page of the newspaper. Anyhow, i am getting way off track here. My point is that people take on dual citizenships every freakin day. So what if Pam does it too? So she's got big boobs, bleach blonde hair, and that "oh so hot" leathery tan...she's a f*cking person like you or I. She need O2 and water to survive, she shits and pisses, eats and sleeps, cries and laughs like any of us. Just because she's in the public eye alot, makes makes mega cash, is attractive to most does not make her super human or better than anyone else. So once again, who f*cking cares!!!

With the way of the world today, I wonder how many other people will be seeking US citizenship to ease crossborder delays and suspicions?

Dual citizenship opens up a lot of opportunities. All of north america as a job market? If the little project I'm working on takes off the way it should, I'll be heading down that road. Then maybe an Australian work visa/citizenship...

Pam Anderson, the worlds most famouse groupie, YUCK! The States can have her, Canada ain't losing anything.

I sense a bit of jealousy there, but anyway they can have her. :P

I'm not positive about this but I think you can't get dual citizenship between the US and Canada...at least being Canadian and going to dual citizenship. Through my agonizing experience of trying to get my green card I've looked into applying for my dual citizenship in the future and my impression is that if you want to be a US citizen you must give up your citizenship from Canada.
Like I said though...I'm not absolutely sure about this and if it's true it's a relatively new rule because my dad became a dual citizen about 10 years ago.

Hottie @ Thu May 13, 2004 10:57 am

Should have seen that comment coming...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not jealous, just smart enough to realize that stars, lawyers, doctors, waitresses, the homeless, the poor, and so on are all people and equal regardless of what their profession (or lack of), their income (or lack of), their clothing, what they drive (or don't drive) and so on.

Why do you assume (the keyword in "assume" being "ASS") that i am jealous? Is it because i am female commenting on another female? Please, get your head out of the popular stereotypes. Not all females are out to over shadow the next female and not all females are insecure and jealous creatures. My previous point also stands for men...i used Britney and Pam as examples only because they so obviously use their bodies to make ends meat. I had a hard time coming up with examples of men who do the same thing - i am sure they are out there i am just not familiar with their names.

If you are Canadian, you must live in the states for a consecutive five years before you can apply for dual citizenship (I'm on year #2). Not sure what it is going the other way, but I know Canadian citizenship is supposed to be easier to get.
Yes you can have dual citizenship.

I'm pretty sure I was hired for my looks. 8)

Is that 5 years AFTER you get green card approval or does the counting start the moment you cross the border?

I think its how long you've had a US address, because I don't even have a green card. I'm here on a H1B work permit... but I dunno. You'd be best talking with US immigration on that one.

TheChick @ Thu May 13, 2004 1:52 pm

Ohhhh...GEEEEZZZ!
US Immigration is giving me an ulcer. I just applied to have the probationary status of my green card removed and they are so far behind that I'm going to have to apply for an extension for my extension.

Oh...and since I'm way off this topic...I'm fine with Pam Anderson getting the American citizenship...just don't marry Tommy Lee again! That would deserve a smack.

Zenfisher @ Fri May 14, 2004 12:47 am

I think INS runs everthing from date of entry or the date of the first application. I've been here 4 1/2 years. I just got my probationary status of my green card removed. It took two years to reach this point Next step my permanent, permanent (not a typo) resident status card. When you get that letter, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. The letter makes it sound like you all you need is your passport, 3 pics and the confirmation letter. BUT NOOOO. You need to make an appointment. They are seven weeks behind here in Seattle. So be forewarned. You'll probably have to read the letter to at least three people, who will keep questioning you as to whether it is the I 90 ( its not). They'll want an extra pic if your passport has expired.

Chick... I would phone about the extension on the extension. I was in the same boat and they told me I didn't need it. I got my letter two months after my green card expired.

I'm not sure on this, but, if your married I think, you can apply after three years for your dual citizenship. I know that you can apply after three years of marriagefor the US citizenship, its that dual part I'm not sure about.

TheChick @ Fri May 14, 2004 5:51 am

Oh wow...I didn't even know that I would be filling out more forms and having to have another appointment to get my "permanent" green card. Although, I'm not surprised.
I'm wrestling with whether I want to apply for dual citizenship because I know it's just going to be another excrutiating ordeal of forms, fees and calling the immigration phone line and getting 6 different answers to the same question.
