Penguin Chicks' Stand Off Against Predator | Spy In The Snow
I remember decades ago reading a story and then seeing a movie about a researcher who went to Antarctica to study why a population of penguins was declining.
He saw the goddamned skuas slaughtering the penguin chicks.
The next year he came back with a .22 rifle and thousands of rounds of ammunition and then spent the summer slaughtering the fucking skuas.
I recall the footnote to the story was that he very likely saved that particular group of penguins from extinction.

Feeling little sympathy for skuas as they were just being natural and having their natural instinct at play while hunting Penguins.
But it is a good thing if Penguins got saved from extinction.
