I remember decades ago reading a story and then seeing a movie about a researcher who went to Antarctica to study why a population of penguins was declining.

He saw the goddamned skuas slaughtering the penguin chicks.

The next year he came back with a .22 rifle and thousands of rounds of ammunition and then spent the summer slaughtering the fucking skuas. :mrgreen:

I recall the footnote to the story was that he very likely saved that particular group of penguins from extinction. R=UP

Feeling little sympathy for skuas as they were just being natural and having their natural instinct at play while hunting Penguins.

But it is a good thing if Penguins got saved from extinction.
