This could only happen in Manitoba, land of everthing pink. Well, maybe not. That claim should probably be expanded to say:
Only in Canada eh.
Stuff like this really pisses me off. YOU CANT JUDGE A CONTEST LIKE THIS IF YOU'RE BLIND!
People will say how she should have the right to, but you cant judge a music contest if you cant hear.
How bout they hire a television host who cant talk?
dumb..... just plain dumb. All may go in Winkler Mb. but don't try that in Winnipeg Mb, I'll stage a protest and request I become a judge.
Somebody want to post the definition of "legally blind"? It might help to explain how that gentleman can be a judge.
I think it is less than 10% vision. This can include people who can see quite well, but have tunnel vision or people who have 20% vision in only one eye, etc. Besides, if I were a blind beauty contest judge I'm sure I could con all the babes into letting me feel them. Sounds like a gooooood gig to me.
And now for the swim suit segment!
we can't discriminate.
It's not discrimination, what if i wanted to be in a play, the charactor is black..i am white. Is it discimination for them not to pick me becasue im white?
With the makeup techniques that are available it is.
It is a beauty contest. Whether the judge can see or not shouldn't be an issue...they've been telling us for years that these things aren't about looks. Maybe somebody is trying to take the first step to making that true?
Thank you Karra, what a tribute to Manitobans everywhere...That even a blind Manitoban can see the beauty and sense the truth in all people. Manitobans have known this all along. People of disabilities are still people.
Adam go to the video store and request a copy of Black Like Me. When Shakespearse plays were first performed all the female roles were played by men. A truly great actor transcends colour, race or gender.
Remember..."There are none so blind as those who will not see"...
