flyyul are you an anglophone or francaphone?

flyyul @ Sat Apr 16, 2005 11:18 pm

Francophone.

What does my language have anything to do with the points I am making.

Dino @ Sat Apr 16, 2005 11:32 pm

Nope! I was just wondering because anglophones are more federalists and francophones it's like 6 out of 10 who are separatists!

flyyul @ Sat Apr 16, 2005 11:36 pm

"it's like 6 out of 10 who are separatists!"

-Bof.

In Montreal, Franco's are not 6 out of 10. Perhaps in the Rest of Quebec, thats the way its broken down to.

How many Franco's would no in a "no sovereignty association" vote

Who do you vote for in a federal election? I've always wondered why the the NDP has such a hard time getting votes in a progressive province. The liberals are even polling higher then the ndp!

flyyul @ Sat Apr 16, 2005 11:58 pm

I vote liberal, because for influence only.

Liberals are the only ones who can protect Quebec industries, such as aerospace and biotech.

A vote against the Liberals, is a vote for the conservatives.. god help us.

And god help us in this province as well.
Dino @ Sun Apr 17, 2005 12:14 am

Voting liberal is stupid. Federalists in Quebec need to stick together and vote NDP. A vote for the liberals while some are voting conservative will help elect more Bloc MP's. The conservatives look like there on the rise but the thing that will change people votes in english Canada is how federalists vote in Quebec.

People are just as sick of the Liberals in english Canada as in Quebec but like you see in Ontario and other places people are so scared of electing conservatives that there willing to stay with Paul Martin who is by far on of our worst Prime ministers!

The fact that the Liberals are the biggest sell outs of Canada to the united states is a reason I will always continue to vote NDP!

Don't you and other federalists in Quebec ever think that the "national unity" issue is still alive because of the Liberals? They were the party that left Quebec out of the constitution then fought against meech lake and now they have this sponsorship scandal.

Flyuul next election you need to put your vote towards the NDP.

It's up to federalists in Quebec to get the federal government to change the constitution so this whole issue of separation can finally end. Why on earth does anyone want another referendum? I don't understand why Quebecers don't make the constitution a ballot box issue and they like yourself need to realize the only party that will change the constitution is the NDP. Not the Liberals there so hated in Quebec more Quebecers would rather help elect Stephen Harper!! The conservatives would be a disaster to the entire country. Jack Layton is the only hope!

Marcarc @ Sun Apr 17, 2005 5:02 am

Everybody always thinks that people who don't vote like them is stupid, that's why in Canada our votes are anonymous and its considered 'bad manners' to ask who somebody is voting for in conversation.

My only points I've added elsewhere, if you are passionate about a party, make sure you join it and work for it. And think strategically, in some areas it typically is obvious that one or other party will never get elected. If you think there needs to be an NDP voice in Quebec, find the area where they got the most votes and try to help out there. As a voter you have tremendous rights of free expression and mailing lists are easy to get. Do your own brochure and state your case and send it to voters in other ridings (if you can afford it). Otherwise get on every bulletin board you can find and state your case.

The one thing that is truly scary in an advanced country is when people tout their candidate as "our only hope". Truly frightening.

Brother Jonathan @ Sat Apr 23, 2005 4:51 pm

What about Senneville? Baie-d’Urfé? Beaconsfield? Pointe-Claire? Mount Royal?

Hmmm, I suppose that a demergerist could be considered a separatist of sorts…

I guess in case of a referemdum won by the sovereignist, Montreal can have its own referendum to see if it wants to become a Canadian protectorate.

[/QUOTE]
