I dunno, I remember a lot of pretty overt bigotry and sexism growing up in the 60s and 70s, at least a lot more open and in your face than you see now.
Don't get me wrong, I still prefer the past for the higher morals, superior work ethic and better pace of life but I believe there were probably more "labels" back then used in average conversation than occurs today.
