I am moving to Alberta either Calgary or Edmonton. I am moving for professional reasons where I would earn very similar incomes in either city. Hence, which city is the better choice? Opinions wanted.

Both are really the same to me however some people here will beg to differ. I just moved to a place outside of Edmonton from Vancouver and like it here. Most of my family is here too though so may be biased since it is nice to hang out with some of them. I would just flip a coin heads for Edmonton and tails for Calgary then go for it.

   

If you like Tim Hortons go to Edmonton.
If you like Starbucks go to Calgary.

   

edmonton it is!

   

If you prefer cocaine go to Calgary.

If you prefer crack go to Edmonton.

If you prefer meth go to Fort McMurray.

   

And if you prefer weed, well, you're already home!

And I was thinkin that maybe she has 'homes' in all 3 cities and maybe spends an equal amount of time at each one!

   

Both cities are great. Calgary has more hills, and is closer to the ski hills. Edmonton has a festival every day of the summer, somewhere in the city. Calgary is the hub of all the oil, so it's more cowboy and redneck. Edmonton is more of an urban mindset. You'll find more cowboys in Calgary than Edmonton.

Calgary, it seems, is closely allied with the States. Edmonton, not so much. Calgary is more international than Edmonton. All of this comes down to the Oil.

Edmonton is easier to get around in, than Calgary.

Traffic circles are great! They keep traffic flowing like water. Unfortunately there's a general dumbing down happening in driving today and fewer and fewer people can handle traffic circles and manual transmissions. Sad, really....

   

i hate the traffic circle.. thank GOD there was no traffic when i stumbled across one..

I was lost as i was and it just buggered me up worse then i was before..
