Edmonton's gone up to > $300K?! Oh, shit, this is not good...When I was going to U of A--granted this was a while ago--I had a furnished efficiency right across from NAIT, all-in for $325/month. I guess Edmonton's no longer cheap, eh? Real shame, that, cuz Eddie is a freakin ROCKIN' town...
Actually I just saw on YahooNews of all places that mortgage defaults are going up-up-UP...Didn't say for what jurisdiction though, I suspect they meant everywhere, though...I don't think it's going to be too much longer before a 1-bedroom flat is 400K in this country--or more, the rate we're going. That soddy's lookin' like a more and more attractive prospect every day!

USA=Unlimited Supply of Assholes. I mention the US only to rip on all these wannabe Yankees infesting our fair city...waaaaaaaaaayyyy less of them in Edmonton, another of that city's many good points.

Awhile back I tried staging a thread to encourage civil war in Canada . Some people were shocked some were all for it ( not too many ) I made a number of suggestions to get the ball rolling on what the civil war could be based on but the result ended up being Hockey , unanimously lol . Anyway people are going to get brushed out and pushed out in any growth city . Torontos growth was dependant on inflation and keeping the masses poor otherwise it would have got nowhere ...Same with Tokyo and various cities around the world . note: I did not mention US cities because I don't know of any , it's just one of those countries most people don't know or hear much about . lol maybe one day I'll do a search on that country if I can ever figure out how to spell it errr what the real name of it is

Don't expect much from politicians in this country because I could ask any of them one unbiased and fair question and guarantee the result would be that he/she , would be completely stumped and walk away in defeat.

There are other ways of dealing with Alberta and like me you just might have to , or choose to leave there . I did and paid for my house cash . 4 Bdrm 18 by 12 feet each living room 33ft by 12ft , kitchen 14 ft by 12ft 2 story $10,000 in a town of just over 1000 people with 2 cities close by and the population has been this since 1929 . It's right on the transCanada Highway so this town will never disappear because of its location ...but it will fluctuate in population. I may head back to Alberta in the future when my kids are older but its nice here . Its starting to grow on me , but leaving Alberta was very hard at first and as time goes on it's getting easier .

I will continue to slam Albertas ignorance though .

The person who walks right by a homeless man, telling him to get a job, without even considering the guy's situation. I find it pathetic, and posting here seems to have been a waste of my time, as there is very little plaesant conversation. It most often seems to degenerate into a moron-fest of name-calling and insults.

Grainfeds response seems pretty proportionate to me.

   

In addition to that, backing down to ignorant insults is exactly what some would wish for you to do.

Instead, why not ignore the insults, or challenge them? take hwacker, for example - nobody gives a flying fuck what he says anymore because enough people have stood up to his crap. He has insulted his way into insignificance, and many are on the same path.
