PC Leadership

Not enough choices like , who gives a .....

Maybe if we put it into a liberal context:
Jim Dinning or Paul Martin?
“There are some 30,000 voters that voted elsewhere and I’m going to try to talk to every single one of them face to face and convince them to vote for Jim Dinning’s version of what the future of Alberta is about.” - Jim Dinning
"Jim Dinning has been wanting to be Premier for so long that he’s forgotten why he wants to be Premier…I won’t name names but Dinning is reminding me more and more of another former Finance Minister who coveted the top job, but didn’t really know what to do once he got there". - Peter Rempel

LOL well it looks like he's got the vote from all the poor people and the most americanized part of the province .
The song goes on about worrying about the easterners , Ottawa I presume ? , anyway look up because the easterners are not east they are all closer than you realize and the blades of grass don'ts count for votes when yerr talk'n population .
Alberta ? is that a province ? Do you have eskimos and Igloos thar

Why would you want a yank from California as your premier? Jim Dinning gets my vote.
Actually change my vote to Mr.Stelmach.
i won't vote, because i know nothing about any of them.
But that map you posted, are the colours representitive of political parties? Red=liberal Blue=tory? or is it just colours.
I find it interesting that Morton didn't get a single vote in either city. That could mean real trouble in the next election if he gets the leadership...
In some ways I hope Morton gets in and splits the PC party here in Alberta. I'd like to see a change of power in this province. The PCs have run things far too long and are too complacent. The big difference between Klein's election and Morton's potential election is that Klein's politics weren't that far removed from Getty's (one of the biggest spenders this province ever saw), whereas Morton's are so different from the majority of the party that it could happen.
Most support for 'seperation' and the Alliance is in rural areas, not urban ones (at least based on the votes in the last election). I don't know a single person in Edmonton who is interested in seperating. Separation is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.
i heard some dinning radio ads at work....sounds very similar to the liberal "stephen harper is scary" ads from before....but still it raises some questions......
i don't like morton's view on healthcare one bit. i think it's short sighted. i don't like the idea that someone with a lot of money can skip the line jsut because he's rich.... if you look at the rich to poor ratio in alberta, his vision of a two-tier health care system (he won't call it that, but that's what it is) won't ease the pressure off the waiting time enough to make a difference, and what it will accomplish instead is widening the gap between rich and poor.
anyone know more about the whole firewall thing that dinning accuses him of? it's kinda vague on the websites..... and what's this about the RCMP?
i think the CPP is fine the way it is, but the equalization needs changing, not scrapping.

No, its just colours.
But maybe Dinning's should be purple since the Edmonton Chapter of the Gay, Lesbian, Pedophilia, Bestiality, Necrophilia, Bi Sexual, Tri Sexual, Voyeuristic, Incestuous, Transgenedered, Paraphilia Pride Association (Out here we call them 'Torontonians' for short) is urging its members to buy Conservative memberships and vote for Dinning. This adds to the liberals, NDP and Union reps calling for their members pony up 5 bucks and support Dinning.
Dinning also has the enthusiastic support of Ann McClellan.
Gary Mar promises to quit the party if Morton is elected.
From Politico: Did Jim Dinning favour Paul Martin and the Liberals over his conservative brethren in Ottawa?
Paul Wells and Proudconservative certainly think so.
Check out the letter Dinning sent to Paul Martin’s lead campaign man in Alberta - and remember, this letter and donation was sent when Chretien was still the actual leader of the federal Liberals:
Mr. Jim Palmer
[Address]
Dear Jim,
Further to your conversation with Steve Snyder, I am pleased to provide you TransAlta’s support for Project 2000.
On a personal note, I worry that our governments across the country have become a ‘hotbed of rest’ and I can only hope that Mr. Martin and others might be able to re-inject a sense of urgency, passion and priority into the affairs of our nation. Soon.
Kind personal regards,
[Signature]
Jim Dinning
Executive Vice President
Sustainable Development and External Relations
How about when Paul Martin was asked what the problem with Alberta was and he replied“The problem is that my friend Jim Dinning, who is the current minister, is about to leave politics. He’ll probably be replaced by Stockwell Day, who unlike Dinning, apparently opposes the increase in employer and employee premiums that are fundamental to the reform package.
But the truest proof that Dinning is nothing more than an Uncle Henry for his Liberal masters out East:
Albertans believe in the principle of equity. Clearly those who have sometimes are going to be asked to pay more than those who have not … I don’t believe this government is a believer in cheque book federalism.” Reflecting on Alberta’s experience in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, Mr. Dinning concluded that Albertans “are in fact net beneficiaries of being a partner in this country.”
Yuck.
I'm Supportin Morton!
24 hours to go. People I am talking to here in Redmonton are overwhelmingly supporting Morton. Hope that translates to victory.

All the hot babes are Supportin' Morton. Its the pant and loafer wearing short haired 20 year old females that look like your 50 year old aunt Claire cheering on that commie liberal Dinning.
OK, so the polls are closed and everybody seems to be reporting a heavy turnout. Updates as they come.
