Reportsare coming in that 4,500 people voted in Hancock's Edmonton Whitemud, riding. This could mean Hancock’s supporters have got out the Stelmach vote and may not bode well for our man Ted.

Stelmach supporters were the first to show up at the convention following the polls closing and are loud and proud, Dinning supporters have recently shown up and are reportedly nervous and quiet. No word yet on our man Ted. I spoke with Trevor over at the Edmonton office of Morton and they have not received any poll results.

Strong Stelmach crowd reported at convention in Edmonton. Numbers on the board show Dinning is strong in Calgary while Stelmach is solid in metro Edmonton. So far Morton not doing as well as hoped but not many polls from southern rural Alberta reporting yet.

Of 14,000 votes counted here’s the breakdown so far:

Dinning — 5,705
Morton — 4,218
Stelmach —4,489

A pretty solid three way race so far. I've no word on whose coming in on the second ballot but I hear that as many as 9 of 10 Stelmach supporters have selected Morton. If Morton has a good showing in the rural south he can still pull this off.

Looks like Dinning's people have really managed to get the liberal/NDP/union/gay vote out tonight.

I really know nothing about this election, but im guessing from your remarks Dinning is too progressive, to close to the center or more left than you want.
Maybe Alerbta is not as far-right as you and I think ;)

Alberta New Democrats are farther to the right then provincial Conservatives in the rest of Canada. :D

Dinning is still a Tory maybe just not as far. I like Stelmach over Morton. What are you looking for grainfedprairieboy a republican? :P

grainfedprairieboy @ Sat Dec 02, 2006 9:28 pm

Here’s the latest:

26,916 votes counted from 19 ridings:

Dinning — 10,451
Morton — 8,212
Stelmach — 8,533

Unofficial numbers:
Dinning — 12,175
Morton — 9,382
Stelmach —10,795

I think most of the cities are only reporting and Morton's strength like Klein, lies in the rural ridings. If things keep going like they are though Morton will get knocked off the ballot and since all the Dinning and Morton supporters checked Stelmach as their #2 choice Stelmach may be our next premier.

I can live with that.

An actual Conservative. Dinning gave Paul Martin 25,000 for his campaign against Harper as an example.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of the reporting from 10 out of 83 constituencies

Dinning 40%
Morton 29%
Stelmach 31%

Fair enough. But I don't like Morton much either. Stelmach is where it is at.

grainfedprairieboy @ Sat Dec 02, 2006 10:00 pm

Holy Moly!

Here’s the latest:

Stelmach has just leapt ahead.

47,608 votes counted from 34 ridings:

Dinning — 17,086
Morton — 13,468
Stelmach — 17,086

Edmonton Strathcona

Dinning - 530
Morton - 506
Stelmach - 1335

He is doing fantastic in Edmonton. Looks like Norris and Hancock really got the Stelmach vote out. Unless our collective CKA choice of Ted does really well in the south (who haven't reported yet) we'd better get used to the phrase Premier Stelmach.

Score

Dinning - 3
Morton - 2
Stelmach - 2
