All hail the new Anti-Bush poster boy
Most of the folks I've seen demanding action in Darfur have been lefties, like Jack Layton.

Are you saying that Jack layton is secretly lobbying to sway public opinion for a military invasion of Africa?

No I'm not. I'm simply wondering what the full story is, since I've only seen one side of it, and it's coming for a source that's not credible in the slightest.
As for Darfur, when I see so much media attention directed at a particular region along with calls to intervene militarily, then there's usually a reason for it that has absolutely nothing to do with humanitarianism and everything to do with theft.
Come on. I want to hear how Jack Layton is the sharp end of the vast nio-con armada to re-colonize Africa, or whatever blithering rubish it is you're spouting.

Jack Layton probably does want to see peace, and it's hard for me to imagine him advocating anything else but peace. Bush and his puppet masters are an entirely different matter, they prefer conflict and war because it's proven to be very profitable for them, and war is their answer when they want to take something that does not belong to them.
Layton has been quite clear that he wanted to withdraw Canadian troops from Afghanistan and send them to Darfur. The last times the west sent troops in was Rwanda and Somolia, and both didn't work out like we expected.
What exactly is it?
Sudan has oil and is now selling that to the Chinese, who support the genocide in Darfur and many of the tyrants in Africa. Perhaps you read about the shipload of small arms from China headed to help out Mugabe? While I don't support a military or humanitarian mission to Africa, I definately believe that China os doing no good there.
Since the African union dosen't want western troops there, what do you propose the UN do?
Should we do a Dion and invade?
Please refresh my memory of a UN mission in that area that didn't end up with a genocide or a bloody mess.
