Americans move to Canada
I think you'll find, Vic, that the discussion is about US foreign policy. Reagan's foreign policy was to run secret and illegal wars in South America and overthrow democratically elected governments. He did nothing to end the Cold War...the USSR was bankrupt and when Gorbachev came to power he began to wind things down as a result.
We are now seeing the USA bankrupt itself in much the same way the USSR did. Hopefully a leader more reasonable than Bush will apear and begin to wind things down too.

Tsk tsk. Poor thing. I know it must have been a targedy for you to witness the collaps of the mother country.
Canada hasn't collapsed, Godz. I know that pisses you off, but Canada is quite strong at this point.

And I'm sure all the vigils that took place for Reagn in places like Berlin, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Brasil and the Ukraine gave after they announced Reagan dead must have given you heart burn, but he was loved byt he free world for destroying the communist threat.
Lech Walesa has said outright that Reagan did NOTHING to help him. Protestors all over the world celebrated Reagan's death. In Guatemala they were dancing in the streets.

p.s. in case you didn't gather it from my post...i didn't move here cause of Bush. I moved here simply because once you get out of the U.S. and look in, you come to realize its not as great as the media there makes it out to be. I married a Canadian girl, saw how the people were here, and how educated everyone is, and i'm not going back...
wow, do i have questions for you! hah.
i've been engaged to a canadian for a year (been dating for 3+), spent a lot of time throughout said year flying back and forth between here (california) and ottawa... and we've decided that we'll finally take the plunge in vegas (party style) come january (1 month!

)...
now, i plan on (am hoping to be) being in canada during 'the process', as it sounds you are...
is it... difficult? i mean, i know the process is difficult... but can you give me more information? how have you managed to stay there during the process, are you working? blahblahblah... so many questions! hah...
anyway, any information would be incredibly helpful.
(i read somewhere that you have to be married for x amount of time before you even apply, is that true?)... hah...
thanks again.
