I came across this interesting little question:

I'd like to ask a big-L Liberal this: If your general attitude is to allow U.S. war deserters safe haven here in Canada, how can you be against both the 'age of consent' act and allowing Malcolm Watson to stay here to serve his sentence? The logic contradicts, if you ask me. What Watson is guilty of doing isn't a crime in Canada (yet), but Liberals who are already coming under fire for being soft on crime are outraged about the story.
That's an excellent point. He hs committed no crime n the eyes of Canadian law. The Liberals for their part have been trying desperately to prevent the Conservatives from raising the minimum age of consent from 14 to 16.
So now you Liberals have to decide, does your anti-Americanism trump your efforts in legally providing access to youmg teens for pedophiles? I look forward to the answer.
Here, Kitty kitty kitty.

I'm thinkin there is a big difference between someone convicted of being a child abuser and a someone who's a deserter. First, why the hell are we allowing US convicts to serve a sentence here? We didn't convict him and the crime was not on our soil. Why the hell should we want this type of garbage in our country in the first place? Personally, castrate him and send him back to the US where he belongs.
From all indications, he was having consentual relations (kissing and fondling-o titties) with a 15 year old girl. Perfectly legal on the Canadian side of the border. Trying to tar him as a sex deviant and pedofile just shows the desperation of you're case.
You could say the same with drug laws. Possession of a joint would send him to jail in the US but in Canada, he might not even be charged. We'd have people here calling for himto be welcomed into Canada with open arms.
What's the difference, except 100 miles?
