You feelin' okay, old dude? It's not like you to skip a chance like that.
ya me too, and i'm the freakin MODERATOR ! ! ! !
i wouldn't waste my time in the States.
i just came bak to the states after spending some time in canada for the new years.. when it came to customs the guy asked where we were going and what we were doing in canada (which personaly i dont understand why they need to kno.. my answer isnt going to tell them whether or not im planning to blow something up) and when we told him it was a family vacation he paused.. and said ok and let us go. he didnt ask us what we had bought or asked to see our birth cirtificates. i was quite surprised that all he wanted with us. especially since that was the customs where they caught the dood loaded with explosives who had planned on blowing up LAX a few years back.
They're supposedly trained to look for signs of doubt or fear in your eyes as they question you, myself I've always found clearing U.S. Customs fairly easy despite the fact that I fit a certain profile. Canadian Customs is another story however.
They have to. Everytime you turn around you hear how the terrorist got into the states from Canada. If we make sure we catch them coming out of the states only one person can be blamed for them getting in.
This was the case for me long before 9-11.
well they didnt really have to did they? They just get on a flight and take it over. for the cost of a ticket you get a missle. cheap missle.
There are some here though. we got 9 of them I think it was all planning to hit the nuclear power plant in ont.
Okay, I wanted to bump this thread up again. I don't know how many of you guys ever follewed this thread from the beginning, but some of you know I've had alot of problems with US immigration. Some of you have told me I told you so, some of you said what are you thinking, and some have said who cares. I'd like to tell you what is happening now and perhaps ask for some advice.
Since my origonal ordeal over a year ago and finally being allowed return into the US I have applied for permanent residency. I've had a job here since august last year and doing quite well. I finally had my interview with immigration this week and did not do so well. Basically if my wife does not prove that she will be under EXTREME HARDSHIP if I leave, I will be deported. This cannot in anyway mean financial hardship as this is not considered extreme. From the way it was explained to us by the guy at immigration, the only way to prove extreme hardship is by proving my wife can't live without me. This does not include money, or personal feelings. So really, what does that leave, and how do we prove it?
This may not seem like a big deal to most, but the way he was talking and the way he explained things to us, he basically told me to leave now before I wasted his time.
I'm kind of at odds right now. I love my wife very much and her kids are wonderful, we get along great and have alot of fun. I thought I was in a hard place before, and everyone's support here really helped me. When I was having problems before I atleast had a plan, a route to follow, but now I'm lost. I have no idea what to do, except to hire an attorney that I can't afford.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent guys, and thanks for listening, those of you who have for so long.
