How does Canada have more freedom then America?

Since I have joined this forum I keep hearing how Canada is more free than the US. I would like to hear how it is more free.

I dont need to provide anything as I am not trying convince you. Why would I bother? I was merely answering your question why I think Canadians have more freedoms than Americans and I gave my answer IMO. However, I will provide an explanation why I think this is so. Now I do admit the following is a cut and paste, but I think it sums it up quite well.......
"The Patriot Act allows unfettered access to spy and detain citizens without warrant or cause. I also removes the power from the people to be self-governed and places it with elites ruled by agendas, foreign interests and greed who can now spy and document your every movement, thoughts and dissention. It nullifies the US Constitution as its very existence is unconstitutional. It breeds corruption and self-interest through the denial of the checks and balances that preserve a republic where the people govern and the government is meant to act in the people's best interest."

But, personally I think that the concept of freedom means something different in the US than it does in Canada. Neither is right, or wrong, just... different.
