Well the local cable has nasa channel....saw the landing this morning..cool....glad it made it this time....cant wait for the color pictures......Chalk one up for the dumb americans....

I was cheering for both. More funding should be put into exploring our neighbourhood and less into trying to blow it up, don't you think?

   

More funding should be given to NASA and all other types of space organisations... Except that one that says they own the moon...

If you've ever read the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy... The whole reason the story takes place is because we haven't discovered any form of interstellar (between stars) space travel... In Alpha Centuari, there legal documents for the destruction of Earth for an Intergalactic bypass.... Anyway... The reason the Earth is destroyed in the end if no one from Earth bothered to go to Alpha Centuari, Read these documents and then complain and stop the destruction... Thats what the Vogons (The ones who destroyed the earth for the bypass) said we should have done.... Interesting eh?

I believe this exploration was funded and overseen by Russia and Britain as well. So in fact, the States can't take all the credit on this one. Nice try.

All we have to do is tell Bush that there are "Weapons of Mars Destruction" up there..... he'll find a way to invade!

seriously if there was an enemy up there then startrek would become areality pretty shortly. I say shortly but probably 10 20 years??

   

as for owning the moon, possesion is 9/10th's of the law....what other country has landed a man there?.....the flag....a cool vehicle in need of a battery.are waiting for us to come back....seems to me...we could lay claim to it...

I think that Canada should fund its space program a tad bit more.
We did make the Canada arm and we did build most of the mars rover didnt we? If we didnt make it it was our technology that made it possible. I watched a thing on tv where Canada had done most of the research and testing for the rover.
