MD,

We've all seen the infantile tripe that they've posted and you've read the responses to said crap, by the other posters. Why bother arguing with them? Danny Boy needs an outlet for his anger and frustration that won't chase him down in the schoolyard and lay a beating on him. No one takes them seriously so I advise the same.

That's what I hate.

People who poke a little fun at America are not Anti-American. Someone who sounds like me is Anti-American.

An attack against Anti-Americans here is possibly only legitimate against Me, Streaker, OPP, and anyone else willing to admit they actually hate-hate America.

Calling anyone else here an Anti-American... Well... Is just silly.

Well I don't hate EVERYTHING about America, there's a lot of stuff I like but more stuff I do not like. That make me Anti-American, or half Anti-American?

There's always going to be tension between the two. Then if you have on beef your labeled. But those who have a beef about the U.S. usually has a beef about Canada, strange that that is over looked.

I'm tired of the generalization that "all" Canadians are "anti-american". I'm not anti american. To me, being Canadian is being accepting of other cultures and countries, live and let live sort of thing...I personally get angry when I see someone in the throes of anti americanism because it just makes those of us who aren't anti american bad...

I'm a nationalist, I love my country, but I don't look down on Americans.

I do get a kick out of Rick Mercer's "talking to americans" though... :)

No Nation is perfect. Of course the U.S. takes up alot of room on the world stage and when you do that your going to attract negative criticism.

Tho the founding ideaology for what the U.S. stands for is one of inspiration.
things like 'all men are created equal' and the 'persuite of happiness'.

I got a few problems with Canada. Not many. Mainly... The fact it's so... American, when it could so easily be so Canadian.

What is "Canadian"? I suppose that's the real question...is that the reason why people are anti-american? Because they're jealous of the fact that Americans have an identity, they know what it means to be American...but for Canada to be Canadian, what would that entail?

Just interested in your thoughts.
