hahahahahaha yeah.....i do do a lot of scrolling......it's not my puter so i don't change it.....my puter works fine but i have to drag it into this room and unhook and rehook everything just so i can go on hte net with it....so i don't bother, i just use this one....like i said, all i know is VERY BASIC computer stuff, so can you tell me how to change that????

Blue_Nose @ Fri Nov 03, 2006 4:38 pm

Wow...

Rightclick on the desktop, select Properties, go over to the Settings tab, and choose a higher Screen Resolution. Same this to change it back... they'll probably thank you for it, though, unless their monitor is 10 years old.

Indelible @ Fri Nov 03, 2006 4:40 pm

no monitor isn't that old....and i just got the ad again in the forum index before i came here to this thread.....

Indelible @ Fri Nov 03, 2006 4:44 pm

Indelible @ Fri Nov 03, 2006 4:46 pm

ahhhhhhhhhhh no more horizontal scrolling!!!! so nice......good thing my eyes are good cuz the text is really small now!

Canadaka @ Fri Nov 03, 2006 5:55 pm

the site requires at least 1024*800 resolution.
which most people use. I use 1280 but I have good eyes.

only 10% of hits to canadaka.net are from 800*600

Canadaka Canadaka:
heh, this is true, thats why i never knew about the problem, I never see ads on the site.

I removed that ad from the ad-network rotation and I have removed the ad from the viewtopic pages for now.

don't hesitate to bring up any problems any time, or complaints.

This mean I'm not getting my free laptop????

Think I'll have a beer while I digest this bit of bad info.

I'm getting "Security Certificate problems" messages from the Forum main page now... I'm guessing it's related to the change?

Hyack @ Fri Nov 03, 2006 6:37 pm

Hey Trev, got another problem for you to fix :D. When i'm logged in and checking out the forums right, at the top of the page, just under the CKA Radio bit, it says " Good morning Jazzman | Messages: 0 ", but when I go to the top of the page and click on "Home" to go back to the main page, it says " Good Morning Guest | Login or Register".

The thing is, i didn't log out, but when I go back to the forums, it goes back to saying i'm logged in. I don't know why it is showing up as "guest" on the home page, unfortunately for you, it's your job to find out. Ahhhh, to be an Administrator. :D

Canadaka @ Tue Nov 21, 2006 5:43 pm

ahhh... i had a fealing this might be happening. the Home page is bing cached entirely, if you are a guest.

But im deciding to output the cached page before the sites "user system" is loaded, so i can't check if you are logged in. So I check if a cookie exists on your computer, But if your cookies aren't working properly, then it thinks you arn't logged in and loads the cached homepage.

This works fine for me, but i guess I will have to make it more fool proof for people with browser cookie problems.

The homepage is the only page i do full page caching. Some other pages cache, but it oly caches parts of the page, the sites "systems" and database acess is still loaded.

What OS and browser do you use?

Indelible @ Tue Nov 21, 2006 6:07 pm

i have the same thing going on too, and when i log in i get a cookie error message too and it doesn't log me in, but if i retype the password then it logs me in. i asked my roommate who owns this puter, he said he hasn't changed the cookie settings and niether have i.
this puter is running XP and i use IE......

Canadaka @ Tue Nov 21, 2006 6:25 pm

ok seems its a common problem, suprised no one mentioned this until now, its been like a week.
