Does the site seem faster to you!!?
site seemed a bit slower yesterday, there was 300 people on the site at a given moment most the day.
The new server is still only running on 1 CPU, the 2nd CPU is waiting at UPS, i have to go pick it up then get it installed.
But i finaly found a great free(open source) PHP accelerator. It caches php pages on the server so loading the site should be faster, seems to be for me. The downside is that it takes a lot more CPU power, so the 2nd CPU will be needed.

let me know if you notice a difference between now (Noon April 01) compared to this morning or yesterday.
changed the recent forum posts on the frontpage to a iframe, rather than the scrolling that was there before. anyone notice a difference.. better or worse?
i noticed that for about an hour nothing appeared in the scroll box, but now it's back....but when I click on the link I get a "page cannot be found" message....instead I'm clicking on Forums at the top of the webpage....could just be me i suppose.
hehe, whoops my bad. thanks for letting me know usababe. Its fixed now.

I personally dont like it. It speeds up the loading of the page by a few seconds but i think its looks amatuer. Plus the convenience of it auto scrolling was alot better for me. What does everyone else think?
Either way is fine with me but right now I can't seem to start a new thread if it includes a poll! Also, if I try to include both a quote and a link to the quote in a thread-starting post the post gets wiped out even before I click to submit it!
I'll try it again tomorrow...

I do like the scrolling feature better....but it was slowing the site down (for me, maybe not everyone--I have DSL too)....or maybe it was the new comments feature (which i really like).
At any rate, you (Canadaka) do a great job and I'm sure you'll figure out if there is a problem and how to fix when you have the time.

It's still happening today...
There's a new thread topic I've been trying to start, with an article that I want to quote. So I go to copy the quote, paste it into my post - so far, no problem - then I go back to the article to copy the URL so I can include a link. When I come back to my post, the quote and any other words I may have written have been wiped out.
I dunno if it's the site or the computer I'm using; it's really weird - I've never had this problem before...

do you have two seperate web windows open while doing this? Or, have you tried copying and pasting the link and then going back to get the quote?
you might also open notepad and paste into that in the interim....
Okay. I'm the party pooper. The site is running really slow for me. Don't know why. I click on the scroll bar and it takes a few seconds to scroll down...same thing happens when I change screens.

No, I'm on CKA and then go to google's search results, get the quote, come back to CKA and post the quote. Then I go back to get the link (via the Google results page), return to CKA only to find that the quote is gone. I've tried putting the link into my post first, as you suggested, but then when I come back to add the quote the link has been wiped out.
Very strange...
The notepad idea sounds like a good one - Ill give it a try if I fail to figure this out!
Thanks usababe - Robair's a lucky one!

WOW!!!! thanks....aren't you sweet. well, you can open a new window if you want by clicking on File, New, Window for a 2nd web page....good luck!
I tried your notepad suggestion a little while ago and of course it worked fine....
Soon I'll try the "new window" technique - thanks for the help usababe, I appreciate it. (I'm kinda dopey with computers!
