Hester Hester:
And my thanks to lily, again, for adding some clarity to my mutterings :D

She's very good at that.

I agree with Hester, I don't feel this site is "family site" at all. It's not necessarily "Adult" either, but it is mature for sure.

Ok. To be the first so called "minor" poster to comment. I know now I am 18, I started surfing this site at about 14. I feel our culture has become so over concerned with "the children". Like, 'I don't want little timmy to see violence, or anything sexual because if I shelter him, nothing bad can happen'. You know what, I think if kids are old enough to be interested....

People have become so concerned over nudity. You realize, under your clothes you are nude too. It is natural. We are so worried that if little johnny sees a nipple, he'll die. Bring your kid to the beach, or even a high school and they'll see just as much as in the galleries. Let the kids explore.

I find myself wondering, why is North America SO concerned about nudity???

younger children wouldn't be surfing the internet looking for canada kicks ass.. at most they could logg in as a guest.. and if I am not mistaken aren't many areas inaccesible to guest only.. you have to be a member.

I think the gallery is accessible to non-members, though... (not 100% sure)

Canadaka Canadaka:
I still have never seen "this pic" that people refer to.

The pic in question featured a woman performing fellatio on a man while simultaneously bottle-feeding her baby. To say the least it was pretty icky and, IMHO, the mod used good judgment in deleting it.

Yes I find cencorship terribly annoying. I've been in art classes drawing nudes since I was 17, and seeing strippers for just as long. The novelty wears off within moments. The only time I've ever seen nudity causing a ruckus is when you throw some shots of fine whiskey in the mix, but ironically you can't drink if you're under 19 anyways.

I find that the most important thing on the site is the people, then the forum discussion, everything else is just bells and whistles to me.

How young do you mean. Lets all ask our resident "minor" and most impressionable member, Hoser. Hoser what do you think. Are we contributing to your deliquency?

I think we all agree that the site contains enough mature content to be considered "not child-safe". The question then is, is that what it's supposed to be? Is CKA supposed to be a family site?

Personally, I don't see the point of the smut in the galleries... there are plenty of avenues for that stuff.

BartSimpson @ Fri Nov 11, 2005 7:38 am

The forums are not at all family friendly with the language that abounds in them, and I use that language too, on occasion in the understanding that children are not on these forums.

Except for Hoser, our alleged 13 year-old who writes like he's in his mid-fifties.

And I'm a little young to be looking at the porn that was posted the other day and would not want a child to see such things at all. 8O

I'd say this is a family site, provided that we're talking about the punchline "Aristocrat" family.

Nice bunch of people on this site. A little edgy/spicy at times.

Well moderated. Educational. Truth is here if you look for it.

Oh! and I really had to learn to type propery like waht udder pople doo.

Trevor...don't change a thing....Now what's this about you losing revenue???

American @ Fri Nov 11, 2005 10:27 am

If each member gave $5, Trevor probably wouldn't lose revenue.

Be it that this site is "family" or "not",
I feel it is at the Parents' discretion to let the kids surf when and where.

Not my call to tell people what their kids can and cannot do Other than in my house.

All I ask is that some Discretion and good judgement be called upon when posting pics.

"Multi tasking" was just wrong for this site.

What it did accomplish was to raise awareness as to what is deemed "Acceptable".
