Yesterday i got an email from the ad-network that I was using for the 2 banner ads on the site, one on the side one at the bottom.

They deactivated my account because they didn't like some of the more adult oriented pics in the Babe Gallery... adult content is not allowed on there network.

So im kinda screwed right now. The ad-network makes up liek $75 of the sites revenue and pays the bills. When I lost google adwords i took a big financial hit. This new ad-network was working out really well too.

The extra shitty things is any new network usualy doens't pay until after the first 40 days.

I emailed them asking if I could not display the ads in the gallery. Or maybe this is the big reason and final straw to move the Babe Gallery to a seperate dedicated site, remove it from CKA with just a link.

IM very heitant to do this, the babes gallery has always been a main section on the site, and the site will loose a lot of traffic if its moved. Also all the good search engine placement for the gallery and pics, models, will be mostly lost..... But i think it might have to be done, specialy if doing that would allow me to get re-activated with this ad-network.

The thing I am most worried about is the ad-network not paying my for all of january, i mean i earned that, just because im de-activated now i should still get my money, Its bullshit if i dont, its like stealing from me, and that means 1 month of lost revenue, and im in the hole big time again, like google did.

Anyway.. oh the joys of running a site.. i wish i didnt have to have ads at all.

I am trying out a new ad-network in the mean time.. its back to the google style ads, text link ads, I only get paid if the ad links are clicked. The banners that were here I got paid just for them being viewed.

I tried another text link ad-network a couple months ago, Clicksor. but it was kinda annoying, it would highlight words on the page and make them ads. This new one doesn't, is basically like the google ads.

   

That sounds bad...there must be some way to keep the babes section here though. Perhaps moving the more questionable galleries to another linked site? But anyway, it sounds like you need a few extra bucks right now, anyone willing to make donations? The man needs an extra $75 for a while. I would be happy to help if i wasn't living on a student's income of $0/mo

Does this have anything to do with he ads that now appear as posts in the middle of threads? Those are super annoying

   

If the babe gallery offends these advertisers then get some who are more into marketing products for the people reading the site.

Sounds like they used you though,if it took them that long to notice there was pics of girls(and guys) they should have done something earlier.

At any rate the PM function and a few other's dont work right now including the "Donate" link.

Trev, you definately deserve getting the payment for their ads being on the site for January. You did your part, they owe you for that.

   

They dont have to be porn ads.

Besides I dont think all the people reading here are porn freaks.

   

What are they considering questionable material?

Just get rid of the stuff that contains nudity... Canadian model galleries are one thing, but Canadian porn stars (eg, 'Kate' and 'Ash'), or hundreds of random ass pictures (I never understood that gallery), aren't something you need to come to CKA to find.

   

Its hard to draw a line as to what is questionable, the pic the refered to I wouldn't even consider one of the more "questionable" ones.

It will be a hit now, but i think in the long run it will be better to have a seperate site for the babe gallery. The pics take a lot of bandwidth and cost the most. So if there on there own site I can put more adult oriented ads there that will pay for the bandwidth they use.

Then CKA will use less and won't have to have any adult ads.

I will leave a small collection of patrioc babe pics in the gallery, but all the rest and the model galleries will go on the new site.

A number of these ad-networks have rules against adult content. I just hope the one that just deactivated me will reconsider.


OH and with the text links, please do not click spam them. If you click them over and over this can be tracked and see as fraudulent.

So just clickj when you see something interesting.. or from time to time.

Why not submit pictures before (to the babe gallery) for approval by any moderator. That way nude pics will be filtered and you won't have to move the babe galleries and lose search engine placement.

pictures do go threough admin approval, some other admins maybe have yet some in, I als might have let some more nudish pics slip by.

The babe gallery has been a long time coming to be moved. The real problem is finding another ad-network thats good. The text link click ads just dont pay nearly as much.

   

Well I could tell you how to set your pc to open up a NEW window when you click a link but wont.
If I had the time then maybe.

Maybe someone else will post the "how to".
