Canada Kicks Ass
New Rules Regarding Adult Content on CKA

Some of you might have noticed there has been no ads on CKA for over a year. The site has been making $0 from ad-revenue all year and the costs remain at over $3,000 a year. This has been coming out of my pocket.

This is bad, I'm at the point of thinking about shutting it down. The reason there is no ads is because Google blocked CKA for adult content violations "Google ads may not be placed on pages with adult or any kinds of non family-safe content".

While CKA has never had full nudity, there was lots of provocative content in the past. I've been working hard to remove old content, disable it, make it member access only and removed ad-serving on pages that *might* have provocative content.

But i'm at the point where it just needs to be removed, so the site can get on Google Adsense again. The focus of CKA is Canadian news & politics discussions, not adult content. Google is pretty strict, even a forum thread with a photo of an armpit that kinda looks like a vagina as a joke was flagged. This is the problem with forums, hard to control.

So I ask all users to stop posting any content that would be against Googles policy and to help me weed out existing content on the forums and site that could be a policy violation. Use the report the forum post if you see something.

I may have to opt to not having any ads on the forum, only the homepage, this would be a lot less revenue, but easier to control what's being posted.

Google ads may not be placed on pages with adult or any kinds of non family-safe content. This includes, but is not limited to, pages with images or videos containing:

Strategically covered nudity
Sheer or see-through clothing
Lewd or provocative poses
Close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches

Public_Domain Public_Domain:
Shame. I had thought AdSense reopened your account, but I didn't hear anything of it after the last time we all talked about this.

As for the removal of the lewd stuff, do it. There's so little as is, I can't really think of a compelling reason to keep it in light of how much it's costing the site in lost revenue.

Hope things turn around.

Agreed, there's plenty of other sites for "adult content".

No problem. Just the other day I was wondering why I wasn't seeing Ads here anymore.

because there was still the occasional weblink to the canadianhottie.ca in the forums, I have closed down that site, so it can't be used as a reason.

I've filled 3 appeals now, each one they reject finding more obscure old content in the CKA forums.

I am also looking at reducing the server costs, the amount of traffic this site gets has gone down and I don't host as many other sites anymore. I've been closing down some old ones. SO I could get buy with only 1 server rather than the 2.

I guess since I'm probably one of the offenders I should say something.....

I have no problems with this. You do what you gotta do to keep the site going. [B-o]

The "Babes" portion of the gallery (which contains no nudity) is removed and no ads displayed on photos from that gallery anyway (special code). In the last month the gallery got around 7,000 pageviews of the 38,000 total.

The member photos section is closed down, it was pretty safe. But there was some bikini type pics in there.

The "babes" category in the videos section is also removed, along with the Canadian babes sub-forum.

Ads also don't show on any of the newslink pages, as there may be content I can't control there.

I created a script to view the uploaded forum file attachments (I have access to a delete link each image).

canadaka.net/forums/attachments_admin.php
(this will load 500 images per page so might be slow!)

But so far all the examples Google have given are not even images hosted/upload to CKA, but are images linked in a forum post. That is very hard to find, for that I've been using Google Image search.

Lots of other places out there for the daily dose of boobies and tushies. I haven't even gone to the Hotties thread in months. Scrap everything except the main page and the forums? Would that save some cash? Maybe even wipe out the archive and only keep threads five years old or younger? That would stop someone Googling and finding some ancient thing that hasn't been looked at since 2008 and use it as an excuse to complain to advertisers. As long as the forums are saved that's all I care about.
