I am trying some stuff with caching.

Cahcing pages so the server hsa less of a load.

If you arn't logged into the site a lot of the pages won't be right up to the min, might be 5min delay.

But if your logged in you won't notice any change... cept hopefully faster load times!

I've been bouncing around the site testing... to me it seems faster.

   

Like greased lightning.

Seems much faster.

   

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

   

Lot faster it seems.....still can't get the last 24hr post page to load, but I am used to that now...LOL

   

Loads for me. Takes a little longer (few seconds) but it does load up.

   

I think it is something to do with this laptop and my IE settings. The damn thing is fast enough ( Toshiba Satellite P30 )...I may try Fox and see what happens.

well the caching was short lived.

The front-page of the site was loading as a blank page in Firefox with it enabled... go FF!

So i am going to try and troubleshoot that, because having caching on the site will make it much faster. Mustly the front-page abd content pages though. The forums are less effected because they are constantly changing


Lily not sure what your problem is with the pages not loading.. might be one of the ads. If you got gold membership i'm sure it would be much faster

   

lily has just asked me to mention that she's having trouble again. It's the same as before - she can read a few pages... then nothing. She says "It's like I have the trial version and my time ran out."

Did she have this happening before today?
I have a feeling it might be one of the ad banners.....

no one else has had this happening?

   

It was down for 15,Canucker's lucky. I was close to scooping one of her trophy's.

Disabled cahching for now. It screws some stuff up, and makes the site load as a blank in FF

   

yes, many people have sent donations via the snail mail, thats fine. Even had one donation in person at my door, heh

BUT, I want to fix the problem you are having non the less... others might be having the same problem.

Can you tell me more? doe sit only happen in the forums? if you press stop then refresh does it work then?
