Canada - There are no defenders

Has anyone tried to defend Canada? Because that opens up a whole new set of questions, such as "who are you to say that your version of the truth is the accurate one?".
Even from the few sentences you posted above it seems pretty clear that the only responses you'll find acceptable are the ones that agree with you.
For myself, I'll happily stick with the so-called falsities spewed at me from sources I know rather than trust the word of a stranger on the internet.
I agree – I’m always leery of the self-styled purveyors of “truth.” Hey, this is the Internet...

Yeah me too, of those like youself.

Good one, Bonzo. Go back to your corner and try to barf up something even remotely intelligent. And, no, your day old
Wonder Twins Alphaghettis don’t count.
How old are you, Mustang?
First you come at me with question about my age, location and sexuality and now you go for Mustang1.

And that’s not creepy.

Eww…

It’s a little bit odd, that’s for sure. Wait a second, did you say he asked about your “sexuality”?!?!? Weird. Hmm…what would Freud say about that?

@ jaime; how was plato wrong? regarding what?
Your garden variety intro course will portray Plato as a defender of what we would call a democracy in some vague theorhetical way.
But his aristocracy of the intelligent, (an idea that I suspect that najmah might endorse, not to mention many of the people who post here regularly), is still an aristocracy.
In a choice between government by the best & brightest, the scientific, the dispassionate, the neutral, the expert, on the one hand, and by the people, the boorish, greedy, superstitious, crass people, on the other,...
...always side with the people.

It was during a thread discussing SSM & gay rights so the question wasn't totally off base but alot of what he says is shite anyway.

You don't think ......
Mustang1, are you into may-dec romances of a homosexual nature like American seems to be?

Well…I can’t say that I am, but what consenting
adults choose to do is ultimately their business. It’s not my personal thing, but who am I to judge?

I dunno why though. why would you rather be governed by the greedy that by the smart? I'm not contradicting your opinion about the citizens being better, i just want to know why they are better than the smart/ bright, so that i can form my own opinion in the future,
I can't believe you guys are entertaining this Najmah guy by arguing with one another over his posts.
I'm am more critical of Canadian policies, government and sacred cows than most of the posters on CKA. I've had many a battle with a few of the posters on this thread. And I don't think there's anyone out there who'd disagree with me on that.
But at least I have the common courtesy to post an opinion, debate it, then take my lumps and reply or move on. This Najmah clown is so arrogant that he expects to post a wordy, boring, manifesto, have everyone read it, then debate it's contents. Where do you get off Najmah?
Try again. Start a thread, based on something in your "articles", then debate. Don't expect us to read through your entire dumb thesis because it's not going to happen.

Because you have at least a chance of rapport with ordinary people, and, (and this is the whole idea behind Madison's idea for the United States), even though they will screw up, they will at least be motivated by the same things that motivate you. Which means, that, by and large, they will have been headed in a direction that from your point of view, makes sense.
Someone who's spent his twenties at the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall and makes a six figure income will not do that. And
cannot do that.
But what's really behind this is that common sense is not distributed in proportion to income.

Completely valid point.

Exactly, my contentious friend,
exactly.
I normaly have no problem letting someone blather on whatever point that they have to make irregardless if I agree or not.
But in this case, perhaps Mr. ( and I use that term lightly ) Pawley, to just leave Canada. I know that everyone is entitled to their oponion, and to express it, but I'm getting really really tired with fellows like Mr Pawley.
I would quate Motorcycleboy, as well but its too much to write. But I agree with him as well, good point!!

true enough... so how did the uber-rich politicians end up in office?

I don't think Canada or the United States has 'uber-rich politicians' in office.
Politicians are by trade lawyers, (whether or not they went to law school), in that they are
advocates.
And a rich politician may advocate for the rich or the poor, just as a poor politician might be.
