Politicians are by trade lawyers, (whether or not they went to law school), in that they are advocates.
And a rich politician may advocate for the rich or the poor, just as a poor politician might be.

You mean the US where a guy like Michael Moore can release a movie like F9/11 during an election year, or where Cindy Sheehan can camp out in front of the President's ranch in protest, or the US where people can take to the streets with banners featuring all manner of obscenities and vulgarities? That US? Give me a fuggin break. If anyone was arrested in the US for putting up posters it was because they were in violation of some sort of city ordinance. Not because the posters were anti-Bush.
