A little help here perhaps?
I've just recently read that the Eastern portion of our vast and beautiful country provides about 30% of all military personel.....shitty part is I cant remember where I read this.....can anyone confirm or debunk please and thank you.
Probably most from Quebec...
Joking aside...this is part of the reason I ask....at the same time I read that Quebec has close to 30% aswell. It would surprise me a whole lot...I notice the Eastern and French accents alot when ever I talk to those in uniform. Not saying this to insult anyone in any way shape or form....I seriously love those who wear that uniform.....must be some kind of fetish perhaps.
Hey Mario...you're looking especially good this morning.

LOL... There is a lot of french through out the CF... and a lot of Newfs too.
im in the army reserve im french and im from ontario !!!!!
Yeah, the Newfs and Frogs(I can say it, me grandpa was a frog) are throughtout the CF. This makes giving orders a bitch, because you can't understand anyone...
Pvt. Lunger: "We need artillery on a mountain side about 150 m from here."
Newf gunner: "Where ya to, buddy?"
Pvt. Lunger: ".....WTF?!"
You shouldn't make fun of Newfies Arty......your Mom has some Newfie in her......every time she visits me!
She doesn't commute that often, and hasn't set foot in Cowtown since years before I was born, but nice try.
I do not have the actual figures but overall I would say that each province contributes equally as a percentage of its population with a slightly larger number coming from the Maritimes and a corresponding smaller number coming from Quebec.
I do find the reserves are disproportionately from the west following a downward graph as you move east when you base it as a percentage of the population.
Regardless of where you joined, I do know that the retirement destination of choice is Alberta.

Still remember the first time I was asked that. A newfy was giving me a ride back to town and was wondering what hotel I was at.
He asked me 3 times and I just thought wtf is this guy saying?

I don't know. Not to sound this way but I guess lower taxes, better lifestyle and being surrounded by people who share your political outlook must play a significant factor.
Do you have a source for this course of reason "the retirement destination of choice is Alberta" ...or is it a personal opinion?
Empirical.
