10 years RAF, served in the Falklands War, Beirut Multinational Force, Ethiopian Famine relief, Hong Kong, Senegal and many other places that C130's can get into. Finished my time in Goose Bay, Labrador. Served in the Territorial Army for 4 years (British Militia) then came to gods country (Upper Canada).

Nice one Bart, the guys from 22 SAS have a habit of getting people out of the shit!

Chigeeng, did you not know that Grenada was occupied by the Cubans and Russians until the yanks kicked them out? Come on man!

I grew up "serving". While I have nothing but the highest regard for those serving, alas it was not for me. Authority and I do not get along. I don't see myself doing very well when you can't stop making snide comments to the Sgt yelling at you to do more pushups! I've always felt if there were a real crisis (like WW2) and Canada really needed me then I'd go.

I vote, pay my taxes and I am a productive member of Canadian society. Does this count as serving my country?

Between the Queen and Uncle Sam my family has spilled enough blood.. I won't get into the history ..civil war / revolutionary etc... ...I did have my hand on the pen but could not sign on the line--I was meant to do something else! the only male in our family not to have served. and I regret it...to a certain degree...I did father a son whom currently serves in USMC ..has done his tour in Iraq and Bahrain..was 30 miles away when the USS Cole was attacked....3rd generation Marine from his mothers side of the family..his Gran Daddy served in WWII Pacific islands..Guadal (sp) Canal... my Britiish side of the family?...the short of it...you name it .. they served. and died ..some buried at the Menin Gate in Flanders ...Turkey Gallopi...... Home Guard.. I have the upmost respect respect for the the majority of Canadian/English and US troops..

I'm a bit torn. I wan't to serve my country, but I also rather dislike being shot at. Not to mention I'm incredibly lazy and out of shape, but I don't know... I would like to get my hands on a C7 though...

Don't want to be shot.
Well sign up now for this is the only way to serve your country, and actually enjoy it.Serving your Country's Needs

Served 25 years in CF Communications and Electronics branch. Retired in Cold Lake AB in 2003.

Not one regret and would gladly do it again if my knees would hold out on me.

I've recently decided I will never fight in the millitary. I was sent to Midgard with a purpose, to spread Odinsm to the world! I don't see how serving in the millitary can help me further them goals. Unless of course the millitary stilll used face to face weaponry, wouldn't be surprise with the state of the Canadian millitary though.

i have a hard time accepting at face value, the views of someone who would use the words of a David Bowie tune from an 80s children's movie as his chosen signature ... please, tell me you are not translating the words to "Oh Canada" into Klingon.

Im far too rebelious to go into the military. That and im a vegetarian, in the military I may be put in a situation forcing me to violate that.
