The day muslims quit insisting that we as a society make changes in how we do things to accomidate their religion then the anti muslim talk shall dwindle. The more they insist on society changing for their religious dictates the more people will become anti muslim with thier speach and thoughts.

   

If our laws to have meaning they must apply to all equally or to no one. If two preschoolers were caught fighting do you think the principal would take sides or put them both in detention? What if Free Republic end up creating the next Timothy McVeigh shouldn't they be held culpable for reckless intent?

   

Obviously the Orwellian era is truly upon us.

Now it has become a federal offence to speak the truth...or complain of the published the threats/intentions of a violent, anti-social identifiable group.

The very definition fo anti-social fits the islamofascists who seek to attack our society.

Logically, legally and properly, Canada's Human Rights Commission would be more correct muzzling the muzzies.

In practice if one student assaults another, it is considered "a fight" and the victim is a participant, subject to detention/suspension even if the entire event is on videotape.

It's time to do away with Human Rights Commissions. They've totally outlived their usefulness.

In a free country like Canada, with a robust, functional court system and established systems of redress for complaints about rental disputes, police misconduct, etc, Human Rights Commissions have become worse than obsolete. They are devisive, because they now spend most of their time trying to identify racism and discrimination where it doesn't even exist.

Like any bureaucracy, they have to justify their existence. But they do so at the expense of individual citizens.

Saying that they should be allowed to were the "B" (cant spell it) that would cover thier face while the woman worked for the jail system. Is the first thing that comes to mind. Those who say they are not beholden to the laws of the land but only to the shira (sp?) laws. Things like that.

Sas, that was my point. Why is it that both preschoolers are given detention? Such fights happen as common occurrence and the onus on the principal is to provide a safe learning environment not to administer justice to children. In a free society we can express ourselves but that right to express in a violent or hateful manner as defined by the law is not without consequence.

If a Muslim free republic type site posting in Canada frequented and posted by Muslim Canadians was advocating violent overthrow I would expect the same standard of law to be applied to them as free republic. If they posted what is classified as hate speech under our laws then I would expect they would be held to account by the same law. It is not that free republic is being singled out or that Muslim Canadians are being granted special status but that the principal of the law is being and must be respected. To expect that free republic is to be exempt from this is to demand special status for them. What have they done to merit more privilege under the law than any other Canadian?
