The GST cut is not some way to get money back in Canadian’s pockets. It’s just a way for Harper to…ensure that there is not enough money left in the federal coffers for the Liberal Party to every be able to offer the kind of social programs (Universal health care/Kelowna/Kyoto) that we are known for. It is a means to try to cripple the Liberal Party…
(Me, me, me , It's always about me..

)
Who you going to trust.. Le Rat or the cat?

If that don't scare the living crap out of every Canadian. I don't know what would.
Dion is awesome.
This guy is a gift to the CPC.

Funny how all that GST (forgetting of course the 100% cut promised but never delivered by Chretien) didn't do squat to end poverty in Canada during 13 years of corrupt misrule. Y'all live in one hell of a neat fantasy world. BTW... if anyone here thinks "Le Rat" Dion is ever going to be PM of Canada is dreaming in technicolor. Not only are his ideas uninspiring, he has even less charisma than Stephen Harper or Gilles Duceppe. In terms of dumb ideas, that little new-world-order socialist conspiracy to re-distribute wealth among nations called the Kyoto Accord comes to mind.....if Dion thinks that will halt climate change, he's got about the scientific education of the average grade six student, and the economic education of a kindergartner.
Was that you riden ?
haha. Nope. I only post under this name so that's not me. It's also too boring and iritating to keep tabs on Liberal bloggers.
The GST cut was a great political move but it was not really a good economic move.
It's true that it won't get much more moeny into canadians' pockets and that it will cost a lot to the federal government.
I would have prefer a tax cut or some tax credit for my investments in gold mines

If they are making $$$ they are over taxing.
Here's a boneheaded comment:

''(The GST cut) is $5.5 billion out of the economy every year and it will not transform the economy and it is not a good social policy,'' Dion said.
The GST cut is $5.5 billion back into the pockets of Canadians. In fact, scrapping the GST cut is effectively taking $5.5 billion out of the economy.
Unless you classify "the economy" as "government tax revenue". But what does that say about Dion's concept of the economy?
No. Money taken from the government is money taken directly from the Liberal party! These conservatives and those pesky taxpayers are stealing money needed to provide such great services as the gun registrry, sponsorship, CBC, $18.4 Billion in handouts to successfull companies, etc.
Here's another damning Editorial
Yeah, but it's from the Edmonton Sun. Liberals won't care much about that.

Agreed. I actually like Dion, but that statement is ridiculous. That $5.5 billion is actually going in to the economy evey year--it's beinmg spent and invested in the market--instead of being taken out to use on inherently inefficient government programs.
Personally the GST cut wasn't the best idea. That money could have gone to paying down the debt.

Dion is a socialist who is also a closet communist dictator, just like his buddy PET. His communist thoughts are only now shining through.
I think the more he opens his mouth, the more people begin to see the man who wants to distroy Canada, not save it.

You must be really confused, both ends of the spectrum. CPC and the LPC ?

I have a nice little equation just for you
During the time that Ralph Imploded the General Hospital in Calgary the Holy Cross Hospital was also due to close and did.
Here is the equation and although the numbers are not exact I did dig hard for the correct ones so they are close .
It cost roughly $250000.00 per day to run the Small Holy Cross Hospital yet the renovation and add on after the closure I believe was $40 million . It was turned into an apartment building with rather high rents . Ok , now given that that scenario is beneficial in tax dollars , economicly sound and does not reach into the tax payers pocket for a quarter million dollars per day , What would be the most sensible way to replace the loss of the medical utility/hospital and prevent people from running to the US for expensive private medical help ?
