2 young people working for the Liberal candidate in my riding came knocking on my door and asked me if they could count on my vote. I answered no.
And he answered the door with clothes on?
Only go out of my way like that for JoHos.
Usually put a sign on my lawn of who I support so others don't waste their time. I'mnot one of these 'my politics is private' sissies. If you don't like my politics, that's your problem not mine.
O'Toole, Singh denounce aggressive protesters dogging Trudeau campaign
As someone who worked Liberal campaigns up until 2005-2006 and Conservative campaigns from 2007 onwards, I can tell you that there are bad apples in every party. Fucktards can ruin any political party and wreak havoc, as the worst of the lot only seem in it for themselves.
On the McGuinty provincial campaign of 2003, we had one of our 'supporters' become drunk and obnoxious, and get the local candidate into some trouble. There was also a woman kicked out of the campaign office for continuing to harass people during phone canvassing well after they said "No thank you".
When I worked my first couple of Conservative campaigns, we had to kick out a religious nut that was so far right, he scared us. There was also an instance of one of our members smashing Liberal signs with a bat in response to some Liberal supporters either purposely putting their signs smack in front of ours, or ripping them out completely.
Most of the people that work either side in the campaign are passionate, smart people that want to help and enjoy the experience, because it can be a lot of fun and you can make some new friends in the process.
Problem is, a few nutbars end up ruining said fun for everyone.

Jeez... politics can sure bring out the worst in people. I'm always dismayed by the destructive and abusive behaviour that some display when it comes to who they support or don't support politically.
I guess it makes some people feel all big and powerful when they vandalize a sign. "Take THAT you dumb piece of wood! Hahaha look at you lying there on the ground. Woo hoo!" Idiots.
Most Canadians don’t pay massive amounts of attention to policy platforms but they do want to know a potential PM can be trusted at the helm. The Conservatives have acquired a crazy fringe and O’Toole’s calm demeanour is reassuring in that regard.
O'Toole's condemned yesterday's attack on Trudeau. Which is great. Problem is those protesters and other assorted idiots probably aren't going to vote Tory. They're mostly likely supporters of the PPC, Bernier's assortment of anti-vaxx/anti-mask/QAnon/etc cranks, so O'Toole denouncing them won't make them stop.
EDIT: guess I was wrong - a bunch of Tory volunteers got kicked out of the local candidate's campaign for acting up at the Trudeau appearance:
